Tukido is a dynamic martial art and self-defence system. All ages above the age of twelve are welcome, but classes consist mainly of adults. Don't worry!

Literally translated The Art of Skilful Combat, Tukido offers an opportunity to develop fitness (cardio, strength and flexibility), stronger mind and a practical set of self-defence tools. Established over 30 years, Teh's Institute of Tukido teaches an effective but easy to learn form of martial arts useful for both self defence and general fitness. You think you are not fit enough? We had a wonderful evening at Kirkintilloch Tukido Club last night, celebrating a truly special achievement. Glasgow Club’s own Mo Ray recently passed his 1st Dan Black Belt examination, and Grandmaster Teh personally presented him with his Black Belt, new uniform, and grading certificate. Members from across all clubs came together to support Mo and mark this fantastic milestone, earned through years of hard work and dedication.

The presentation was also attended by Master William Davie, Mo Ray’s original instructor from the University of Strathclyde, where his Tukido journey began in 2000. After stepping away from training to focus on family and work commitments, Mo returned to training in 2023 with renewed determination.

Since his return, Mo Ray has demonstrated an inspiring work ethic and a strong commitment to both his physical and mental development. Always wearing a smile and offering encouragement to others, he has become an invaluable part of our club, our team, and our Tukido family.

Over the past three years, Mo Ray has achieved outstanding results in every grading. On 5 April 2026, he successfully passed his 1st Dan Black Belt examination - a hard - earned and thoroughly deserved accomplishment.

Congratulations, Mo Ray, on this incredible achievement. We are all immensely proud of you and look forward to seeing what the future holds on your Tukido journey. πŸ‘πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

πŸŽ„Xmas Class – 17 December 2025 πŸŽ„
What a way to end the year! The class brought together martial arts training and festive fun in true Tukido style. Santa led the class, with a brilliant turnout of students dressed as elves and other festive characters, turning a regular training night into a full Christmas spectacle. 🀩

Festive outfits aside, the focus and energy were still thereβ€”strong movement, sharp techniques, and plenty of laughs throughout the session. The students were full of smiles, seasonal cheer, and the great spirit that defines Glasgow Tukido Club. πŸ₯Š

Thank you to everyone who trained, dressed up, and made it such a memorable night. Enjoy the photos and a well-earned festive break! 🎊

Following a fantastic performance at the grading, our very own Sujan Muthumanickam was presented with his Grading Certificate by Mr. Jakovsky. Sujan was promoted to 6th Ji - Green belt and, after a formal photo, we couldn't help but celebrate! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰
