Next Up: Out league campaign starts with a tricky away tie to face Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers. The game kicks off at 10.00 in Overtown.

The final game of the group saw us travel up the 74 to take on Vale of Clyde for the first time. The boys were tasked with making it 3 wins from 3 and they delivered with a fantastic performance which was a pleasure to watch.

Blake put us up in the 1st minute finishing off a fine move .. Vale must have wondered what had hit them. Sandy who was a constant threat down the left put us two up (8) before Lewis finished the 1st half scoring on 28 minutes after a bit of a goalmouth scramble. A high quality half of football from the boys. 3-0 HT

The 2nd half saw us continue our domination of possession and continue to create chances. Harris, who was introduced at half-time, didn’t take long to get on the scoresheet when a great overlapping run from Noah created space and allowed Harris to cut in from the left and unleash a fantastic strike into the roof of the net from distance. Vale got a goal back after a fine save from Daniel saw the Heston defenders go to sleep a little and let their striker follow up volley home from close range. It was up-to Harris to complete the scoring in the last minute when in role reversal he followed up from a good save from the Vale keeper and side footed coolly into the corner. 5-1 FT

A really good performance spoiled only by a lapse of concentration from the defence sees us top the group with 9 points and move into the 1/8 finals.

Best of luck to Vale for the season, they never gave up and tried to play football for the whole
80 mins. Special mention for the 🌈 flick near the end 👏🏼!

The Leagues are confirmed for our 2026/27 campaign, we have been placed in the CLYFA
A Division - Tier 1 which will see us again come up against some of the best grassroots teams in the country.

League starts 29/8 with the fixtures to be confirmed soon.

We can’t wait to get started!

The match opened with us in total control, dominating possession and mounting heavy pressure, though our early chances went unconverted.

Our opening goal arrived midway through the first half. Sandy cut inside and fired a sharp shot that the keeper parried away. Lewis reacted fastest, poking home the rebound to break the deadlock. Against the run of play, Mill United equalised from the penalty spot following a mistimed challenge by Louis during a quick breakaway.

We started the second half with renewed intensity, keeping Mill United under sustained pressure and generating excellent opportunities. Lewis secured his second goal of the match with a clinical finish after being played through by a nice pass from Rory.

Rory turned provider again shortly after, delivering a precise cross to the back post. Sandy arrived perfectly to head it home, scoring the goal his overall performance deserved. While the match became untidy and scrappy toward the final whistle, the team stood firm to secure a well-deserved victory.

Transfer Update:

We have seen a little turnover of the squad over the summer:

Rurs has moved on to take up an exciting challenge at Partick Thistle, he will be a big loss from the squad but we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him, we believe he will go on and smash it, we couldn’t be any prouder of your development so far.

Aaron has decided to go and join the 2013’s in search of more game time, we respect his decision and again we hope this move works out for him, Aaron like Rurs has been with us since the fun 4 days. All the best wee man.

Mitch has also decided he would like a new challenge and has joined Threave Rovers, Mitch wasn’t with us for all that long but we will miss his smile about the place, a tenacious wee player who will be a huge asset to his new team. All the best!

Coming in we have Daniel who will take over as our new number 1, we are delighted to get him into the squad. Daniel will be a welcome and able replacement for Rurs.

Also coming in are Reuben & Dara from our old DYFA rivals Tekkers, both have settled in well. Our final new signing for the season sees wee Stanlie join us from Terregles, a familiar face to us throughout our years in then DYFA area.

We welcome them all to the Heston 2012 family and look forward to working with them. 🖤🤍🧡

A winning start to Challenge Cup campaign… could’ve and should’ve been a more comprehensive victory, Blake scoring the winner. 3pts on the board though, next up Mill Utd at Maryfield on Tuesday night with a 7pm kick off. The boys would appreciate your support.

Keith’s Dad Allan was a local legend playing over 800 times for Queen of the South, it’s great to see the family supporting grassroots football and hopefully help develop the next batch of local talent. Thanks very much for your support!

Our last away game of the season saw a trip to Hamilton to take on Mill Utd. We dominated the game almost completely although went in at half time only one goal to the good after missing a few clear cut chances. The goal came in the 24th minute with a nice side footed finish from Sandy with a nice the edge of the box. 1-0 HT

The 2nd half didn’t start so well when confusion in defence allowed the equaliser to be scored from inside the box low to Rurs right. This actually gave us the kick up the we needed and we went onto score 4 without reply including a hat-trick from Blake one of which was another for his collection with a fine control and volley finish over the keeper before Wilson completed the scoring with 7 mins to go. A decent display with some fine football played on a lovely sunny evening in Hamilton.

Next up title chasing Blantyre visit St Jo’s for our last game of the season, kick off Saturday is at 11.30.

Heartbreak, last minute winner from Inspire. What a horrible game of football in which the boys done us proud with their desire and commitment to the cause. A game of little football and even less chances came down to Inspire taking their chance at the end.
