The UK’s ONLY SCQF-approved course by SQA for dance educators on injury prevention and well-being for dancer’s.

Disciplined dancer:
Chooses to train
Arrives prepared, with a positive attitude and ready to train
Listens to you and actively takes on board what you’re saying
Prioritises progress, even if that means taking the day off

Pressure-driven dancer:
Trains because they feel they have to
Arrives early, nervous incase they get shouted at
Hears you but is so consumed with worry that they can’t listen to you … so don’t apply your corrections
Subconsciously prioritises validation, because ‘no pain no gain’

This is missing in dance

High performing athletes have a ‘multidisciplinary team’

A team of specialists from physio’s to dieticians to psychologists to S&C coaches

And that’s on top of their gymnastic coach or football coach

And I know what you’re going to say … ‘dance doesn’t have the funding’

Which is true for the freelance world

But it’s unfair for that responsibility to fall on the shoulders of dance educators who haven’t trained in those fields

Inside the Certificate in Dancer’s Injury Prevention (SCQF-8) you get to learn from these specialists

Specialists who are (mostly) retired professional dancers, now working in their respective fields

You’ll get real, practical advice from specialists who are working with professionals every day

Who have first hand experience in supporting dancers as athletes

And we did that on purpose

Because you deserve to learn where your role ends, and theirs starts, so you don’t have to carry it all alone

And in the meantime, they all provide you with tools you can use in the studio to make the next ‘I have a sore knee’ have a clear pathway of response … not guesswork

If you want to learn from leading specialists and you want to upgrade your classes by training smarter, stronger dancers … then our final cohort of 2026 is for you!

Up to 80% of dancers experience an injury every year

And what’s even more mental is that over 50% of them could have been avoided

I’m sure like me, you’ve been one of these statistics

An injury that started as an annoyance and before you know it, it was something that never went away

A pain or a ni**le that not only had you limping on stage

But also took a piece of your confidence

A piece of the trust you had in your body to try new skills

A distracted eye in the studio incase you were falling behind

Experiencing (and importantly, ignoring) the signs of injury has long been masked as discipline in our industry

And it’s the narrative we’re changing inside the Athletic Artist Method

We’re no longer letting the next generation of dancers loose confidence and trust and potential because ‘sit out’ was the only response to pain or the onset of an injury

We’re heping dance educators train their dancers like athletes so they can train stronge dancers and set a new standard of what it means to train dancers

A standard that trains dancers smarter, helps them reach their full potential without the unnecessary risks

‘Whack on biofreeze and you’ll be fine’

The classic must-have in any dancers bag

At least that’s what I thought when I believed pain was an essential part of progress

The problem was I danced through injuries because I didn’t know it could make them worse

And the classic ‘just sit out’ made me feel useless

So I just kept it quiet and continued on, and in pain

And I know it’s the exact scenario you see with your dancers

You too might feel out of your depth when someone says ‘I have a sore knee’

And so the response often becomes ‘just sit out’ because you’re not sure what else to do

So all we’re essentially doing is passing on a poor injury-management system to the next gen that helps no one

Inside the Certificate in Dancer’s Injury Prevention (SCQF-8), we help you build confidence around your role when a dancer presents with an injury

We help you distinguish between whats your responsibility, and what you need to refer on

So that you have a toolkit of responses and a system that means you don’t have to carry it all on your own

Our final cohort starts on Monday 28th September, and it’s our final cohort of 2026
