Giffnock Tennis Squash & Hockey Club

We are excited to be able do something a bit different this weekend with the court resurfacing starting on Monday. Given the excitement at the club around the World Cup and the final being shown in the bar later in the evening, a mini football tournament seems like a fantastic farewell for the courts on Sunday!

Come show everyone why Scotland would have done just as well with a team of Giffnock members at the World Cup! ⚽

This is part of our Fun Day and will run between 2-4pm split into 17+ and 16U groups. You can sign up for both on our website at www.giffnock-ltc.co.uk/event/fun-day-2026. It is free to take part but we do ask to sign up in advance to help with organising it. Members and non members are welcome.

Today is Quarter Finals Day at the Lexus British Tour Giffnock Open.

Giffnock men’s 1st team stalwarts Callum McGinn and Ben Hudson are both through to the quarter finals, Callum is scheduled not before 1.30pm on Court 2 and Ben not before 1.30pm on Court 3. Court 2 is of course the live stream court, so if you can’t make it down you can still watch Giffnock in action!

Later in the day, (not before 5.30pm), Callum and Ben are teaming up to play doubles. Thanks to some great referee decisions, this will also be on Court 2.

Our thanks to CaVa Bar & Brasserie for providing players at this year’s championship with discount vouchers, providing all players with 10% off all food purchased during the tournament.

With the weather set to stay good we can tell you now that semi-finals on Friday will be 2.30pm for the singles and not before 5.30pm for doubles, so you can watch some great teatime tennis at the club.

Saturday finals will be a change of format with both singles finals starting at 1pm on courts 2 and 3. These will be followed by the doubles finals, although we may switch them around if none of the players in singles are in doubles finals.

The bar is open, the sun is splitting the skies and the tennis is great, so why not enjoy all three at your club!

After our hockey ladies 1s won their league last season, we're looking for a head of ladies coaching to further develop the section. The head ladies coach will predominantly lead the ladies 1s coaching whilst supporting the ladies 2s coaching team.

As part of our farewell event to our artificial grass courts 😢 🌱, Dan is running a social tennis doubles tournament between 11am-2pm. It is free to join but we ask to sign up in advance via the link below. Spaces are filling up so don’t delay and get your name in and have the chance to play the final point on the old courts!

Our Lexis British Tour Giffnock Open is blessed with great weather this year and has already had some terrific matches for members to watch.



Tomorrow sees the seeded players take to court, with our very own Callum McGinn set to play past champion Ewan Moore on Court 2, with a schedules time not before 2.30pm. Play starts at 10am and will play through into the evening. Tomorrow also sees the start of the doubles event, with some great matches on offer into the evening.



The bar is open from start of play through to close, so plenty of opportunity to enjoy the play and to stay on for the World Cup semi-final at 8pm.
