πΏ What an incredible milestone for East End Flat Pack Meals!
Yesterday, our Project Manager had the exciting opportunity to deliver the "Beyond the Walls" workshop at the International Association for Community Development (IACD) Conference, sharing research with community development practitioners from across the world.
The workshop explored how outdoor, community-led experiences can strengthen wellbeing, build relationships and create lasting community change. Seeing this research spark meaningful conversations on a global stage was a real pinch-me moment and a reminder that the experiences and knowledge within our communities have value far beyond our own neighbourhoods.
One of the most exciting parts of this journey is that the learning doesn't stop here. We are now inviting Community Learning and Development (CLD) practitioners to peer review the Beyond the Walls Learning Framework, helping to shape and strengthen it through collaboration before its wider publication.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended the workshop, shared their thoughts and contributed to the discussions. We're excited to see where this journey leads next and how this framework can continue to support community-led practice.
Here's to continuing to learn, share and grow together. π

π WOMEN OF EASTERHOUSE π
HELP US TELL THE STORIES THAT SHAPED OUR COMMUNITY
East End Flat Pack Meals is launching a community arts and heritage project celebrating the women whose activism, leadership, and dedication have helped shape Easterhouse and Greater Easterhouse.
We are looking for:
πΈ Women who have made a difference in our communities
π Stories of local activism and community action
πΌοΈ Photographs, memories, newspaper clippings, and community history

We are particularly keen to hear from the older generation who can help us capture the stories that might otherwise be lost.
βDo you remember community projects, campaigns, groups, or local initiatives from years gone by?
βDid you or someone you know have links to community activity on Dunphail Street during the 1960s or 1970s?
βDo you know anything about a women's football team, local women's groups, or community-led projects from that period?
We want to hear from you.
Together we will create a community memory wall, oral history archive, photography exhibition, and live performance celebrating the women who helped build our community.
π Help us preserve our history for future generations.

Lovely morning at East End Flat Pack Meals π
We put together a continental breakfast spread today with pastries, pancakes, yoghurt, fresh fruit and plenty of other goodies ππ₯
It was all for a great workshop with Glasgow Community Energy, and there was such a good buzz in the roomβlots of positive conversations around funding and how we can best serve our communities moving forward.
Breakfast was provided by our team, and it was great to see everyone enjoying it while getting stuck into meaningful discussions.
Just a reminder that we can cater for both small and larger events here at Flat Pack Mealsβwhether itβs meetings, workshops or community gatherings, weβve got you covered π
If youβre interested, just give us a shout!
