Westermains Bowling Club

After our strong 8-0 +31 shots victory against Greenfaulds in the K&D Top 10 last week, they have conceded & there will be no Top 10 fixture this Friday. Top 10 will resume on Friday 17th July with a home match against Kirkintilloch or Campsie.

Friday points will be on so please do come down, we will also have the World Cup Quarter-Final on the TV.

The Joker has also been redrawn & we'll be selling tickets once again!

With the Harris Open Pairs under 3 weeks away we are finalising entries to complete the draw the week prior. We are still missing some entry fees, if you have not yet paid please do so ASAP! If you require bank details just send us a message.

If you are now unable to enter please let us know so we can ensure the day runs as smoothly as possible.

If you want an entry please let us know ASAP as we look to maintain a reserves list.

2 wins today sees us with 2 teams progressing to the K&D Finals on 1st August at Chryston BC!

Fraser won 21-12 in the Senior Singles this afternoon, with Andrew winning 21-10 this evening.

Unfortunately the Pairs lost but did well winning 3 matches to get to the Semis.

This rounds off the knockout competitions for the Club this season with good success so far, 5 teams made the Bowls Scotland District Finals (4 Gents, 1 Ladies), 2 teams in the DBA County Finals & now 2 in the K&D Finals - a great achievement & shows the growing strength of the membership across the Club.

We'll share fixture details for the finals nearer the time.

Sunday 19th we’ll be showing the World Cup final at 8pm.
The bar will be open from 5pm with a bounce game at 6:30pm along with other fun and games being organised through out the evening. Half time pies will be provided with a cover charge of £2 payable on the day.

The K&D knockout competitions continue this week with the below players representing the Club in the Semi-Finals tomorrow 7th July, all of our teams are at Auchinairn:

1:30pm:
• Senior Singles 1 - Fraser Grant v Chryston

6:45pm:
• Singles - Andrew Byron v Kirkintilloch
• Pairs - Kenny McGeouch & Andrew Fleming v Greenfaulds

The road directly outside the Club will be shut from tomorrow for roadworks, lasting 6 days.

The final league table is out for the K&D Friday league, confirming our position in 2nd place. A great return to Division 1, having just been promoted & the previous season withdrawing as we could not fill 2 teams every week!

1st fixture of the DBA Top 10 takes place on Thursday, a title we last won in 2012. These are always competitive games & this is likely to be the same as we make the trip to Dalmuir in Clydebank.
