Welcome to the Glasgow University Sailing Club page! Here you can keep up to date with all the club has been up to, and what we have in store!

The club welcomes students from all backgrounds, courses and sailing abilities. The aim of the club is to allow its members to enjoy sailing at university and provide a great social environment both on and off the water. And finally, as our commodore for GUSC 2026-2027 we have Finlay Tulett. Finlay will be in charge if overseeing our whole club. We are so excited to have Finlay as our commodore this year and can’t wait to see how far GUSC will go this year!

Coming into this year as our Vice-commodore this year we have Cecily Webb, Cece will be helping our commodore run GUSC this year, we have all our trust in her for this year. We can’t wait to see what Cece brings

In charge of our clubs finances we have Erin Reid our newest executive member of the 2026-2027 committee. She will be in charge of making sure the club has all of our members backs and making every penny count.

For the committee of 2026-2027 we have Ben Hay as our Dinghy Captain, who will over see all of our trainings over the year for our team racing. If you re interested in competence sailing come talk to us at the freshers fair. Teams trials will take place on 10th-11th October this year.

This year, overseeing our beloved open water sessions at Bardowie Loch as Training Officer is Ruairi Herrington. These sessions are open to everyone, beginners, intermediate or people who just want to get on a boat. All are welcome. Come meet us at the sports fair or freshers fair in September! Or jump into our taster sessions!

Taking on the role of Yachting Captain for this years committee position we have Madeline Harrington! She will be overseeing and planning keelboat training and events, like BUCS Yachting, Ceilidh Cup and many more. If you are interested in keelboating with GUSC keep an eye out for Madeline at the up and coming freshers fair and a have a chat.

For our social secs we have the iconic duo of our last years purple team helm and crew, Anna Irving and Josh Milroy. These two will be in charge of making our socials super fun and inclusive to anyone who wants to join GUSC, make sure to keep an eye out for the up and coming socials this year… coming soon.

As our social yachting sec, Eva Farnell will be in charge of organising our super exciting yachting trips like our up and coming west coast cruise and our summer sail in 2027. Check out our page for more information on these events.
