πΏ New 12-Week Stretch & Stroll Programme at Clarice Pears Building
Weβre delighted to be working in partnership with the team at Byres Community Hub to bring a new Stretch & Stroll walking group to the Clarice Pears Building! πΆββοΈπΆββοΈ
π
Every Tuesday, from 1 September
π Meet: Next to reception at the Clarice Pears Building, Byres Road
β° 11am
Each session will include:
πͺ 10 minutes of stretches with gentle strength and balance exercises
πΆ 15β20 minute relaxed stroll
β Tea, coffee and a chat afterwards at Byres Community Hub
Why strength and balance?
The latest UK physical activity guidelines highlight the importance of building and maintaining strength and balance alongside regular walking and other physical activity. Strength and balance exercises can help support mobility, confidence and independence, while also helping to reduce the risk of falls as we get older..
Whether youβre looking to become more active, meet new people, are returning to activity after an injury, or simply prefer a shorter walk, this group is for you!
π Everyone is welcome!
Please feel free to share this post with anyone who might be interested. Weβd love to see you there! π For more info call the Walking Team on 0141 287 0963

Summer of Sport 2026: Making a real difference across Glasgow! π
We are proud to highlight that The Active Glasgow Holiday Fund funded in partnership with Sportscotland, helped make sport and physical activity more accessible to children and young people across the city this summer.
π 644 activity sessions delivered
π 14,936 attendances
π 3,351 individual young people took part
From football, basketball and gymnastics to cycling, kayaking, tennis and much more, the programme gave young people opportunities to stay active, build confidence, make friends and try something new.
And the impact goes beyond the summer holidays β organisations reported young people joining clubs, returning to regular coaching and even progressing into leadership and volunteering opportunities.
A huge thank you to all the community organisations, clubs and volunteers who made this possible. Together, weβre helping create positive experiences and lasting pathways into sport for children and young people across Glasgow. πͺ
