📣 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🟣🟡

After all of our sucess yesterday, preperations are now underway for next weekend.

We’ve got a very busy weekend ahead at Anchor, and we’re looking for members to lend a hand as end of rink markers.

On Saturday at 2pm, we’re delighted to be hosting the P&D Champion of Champions Finals, and we need 7 volunteers.

Then on Sunday, we host the RBA U25 Finals, with two sessions:

10am – 12 volunteers required

2pm – 8 volunteers required

It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase Anchor and make sure these events run smoothly.

📝 Sign-up sheets are on the Gents Notice Board in the lounge. If you can spare a little time, please add your name.

All three ties get underway again at 2pm this afternoon.

Unfortunately, our Senior 4s – Pat Hollywood, Alan Pickering, Willie McGregor & Willie Young narrowly lost their tie on the very last end. A great effort from the four of them and a big thank you for representing the club.

This Saturday sees our first social night of the new outdoor season since opening night.
Tickets are available from behind the bar only £5.
Here's hoping we get a good response from our members.
I will be posting future events in due course and also puting notice on the board just behind main front doors of the club.

Today sees the culmination of the P.D.I.B.A season takes place at Anchor Bowling Club, the champion of champions finals are where every player hopes to find themselves at the end of the year and hopefully taking home the title. This year we will see representatives from Renfrew Bowling Club, Neilston Bowling Club, Blacklandmill Bowling Club, Caledonia Bowling Club, Linwood Bowling Club, Abercorn Bowling Club and Eaglesham Bowling club all competing on our carpet in what promises to be a great day of Bowling action.

A special mention must go to our very own Ian Gilmour who will take on Alan Gray in the singles final and we wish him the best of luck when the time comes.

If you're free at all this afternoon please come down and enjoy the spectacle the games are due to start at 1pm so make sure you're down early to get yourselves a good seat.

A massive congratulations to our ladies triples team of Amanda Donnan Margaret Morrison and Katy Neilson who won their final at Charleston to be crowned 2026 winners! 🏆 c'mon the Anchor!

⚓️ LOUNSDALE TRIPLES ⚓️

The finals of our open triples drew to a close on Sunday. 2 excellent semi finals saw an Anchor and Hawkhead team progress to the final. Congratulations to Stewart Hunter, Tam McNeil and Steven Young who prevailed victorious. A massive thank you must go to our sponsor Cammy McIntosh and all of those at Lounsdale Decorators. Without your support, this tournament would not run. A thank you to all who entered. What a fabulous 4 weeks!
