One Dive Family Wherever You Are! Motor City Scuba and Snorkel
Even though our Facility Manager, Brittany, was across the pond on a non-diving trip, she still remembered one of the core values of SDI TDI UK :
ONE DIVE FAMILY
And what better way to keep that spirit alive than with a quick pit stop at Motor City Scuba!
What an absolutely amazing place!
From the warm welcome to the passion for diving, it’s fantastic to see the diving community connecting across borders and sharing that same love for what we do.
If you’re ever thinking about exploring the Great Lakes and experiencing some of the incredible diving they have to offer, make sure you give Motor City Scuba a shout!
Because no matter where in the world we are, divers are family.
One Dive Family. One incredible community.

Congratulations to our two newest SDI solo divers!
A huge well done to both students on successfully completing their SDI Solo diver speciality. This course demonstrates a diver's ability to plan and execute dives with a high level of self-reliance, sound judgement, and confidence.
It's important to understand that the SDI Solo course is not all about encouraging divers to dive alone. Instead, it is designed to develop self-sufficiency and personal responsibility, skills that make every diver a safer and a more capable buddy, even when diving as part of a team.
Throughout the course, students learned advanced dive planning, personal limitations, accident prevention, navigation, emergency management, and the use of redundant equipment. They also explored when solo diving is and isn't appropriate, the mindset required for self-reliant diving, and the benefits and hazards associated with diving independently. These skills are invaluable whether diving solo where appropriate or simply becoming a stronger, more dependable dive buddy.
Congratulations again to both of you an excellent achievement and another step forward in your diving journey

That’s a wrap.
What a week in Scapa Flow. From the Churchill Barriers to legendary wrecks including SMS Karlsruhe, F2 + YC21, SMS Kronprinz, König, Bayern Turrets, Dresden, Markgraf, SMS Cöln, Brummer, and V68, this trip delivered adventure from start to finish.
This wasn’t just about ticking off iconic dives it was about sharpening skills where it matters most.
Throughout the week, the team put their Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures training into action, with a strong focus on dive planning, teamwork, and executing every dive with purpose.
Big wrecks, dark water, history beneath us, and a week packed with learning, challenge, and serious fun. The divers threw themselves into every dive, pushed their knowledge further, built confidence, and came away with a huge amount from the experience.
Scapa Flow never disappoints and neither did this team. What a week.
