And for years, I allowed that one opinion to stop me.

Looking back, Iโ€™m grateful for how everything worked out because the delay ultimately put me exactly where I needed to be. But it also taught me an important lesson: never allow someone elseโ€™s fears or limitations to decide whatโ€™s possible for you.

Do your research. Make a plan. Speak to the right people and then back yourself.

You might try and fail, but at least youโ€™ll learn. The real regret comes from never giving yourself the chance in the first place.

If thereโ€™s something youโ€™ve been thinking about doing, this is your sign to take the first step.

You might recognise Shannon from my page already, but when you look at how far sheโ€™s come, I feel like her progress deserves to be shared again.

When Shannon started her journey, she weighed 46.7kg.

Today, sheโ€™s sitting around 57kg - over 10kg heavier.

And that weight gain represents so much more than just a number on the scales.

Sheโ€™s stronger.
Sheโ€™s eating more and eating better.
She has more energy.
Sheโ€™s more confident in herself and how she looks.
Most importantly, sheโ€™s prioritising her own health.

When we started, Shannon struggled to even take one paracetamol because of how little she weighed. Swipe across and youโ€™ll see the message she sent me when she was finally able to take two - something that might seem tiny to most people, but at the time it was a massive milestone for her.

Weโ€™re so used to seeing transformations where the number on the scales goes down.

But sometimes progress means watching that number go up.

Gaining muscle.
Gaining strength.
Gaining energy.
Gaining confidence.

And ultimately,

Fat loss isnโ€™t the only transformation worth celebrating.

Over 10kg gained, stronger than ever, eating better and feeling more confident in herself.

Absolutely class work, Shannon ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ! Very proud of you always!

๐Ÿฅˆ 2nd place in my age category.

When you see someoneโ€™s end result, itโ€™s easy to look at the transformation, the photos or the podium and think โ€œI want that.โ€

But what you donโ€™t see is everything that came before it.

The date nights sacrificed.
The nights out missed.
The social events turned down.
Training when I didnโ€™t feel like it.
Getting my steps in when Iโ€™d rather sit on the couch.
Sticking to the plan when the easier option was right there.

And doing it over and over again for 12 weeks.

And thereโ€™s a reason why so many people struggle with this sort of thing.

Changing your habits isnโ€™t easy. Saying no when you want to say yes isnโ€™t easy. Staying disciplined when motivation disappears isnโ€™t easy.

If it was easy, everyone would do it.

That doesnโ€™t mean you need to sacrifice every night out, every meal with your partner or your entire social life to make progress.

But if you want to achieve something that genuinely challenges you, there will be times where you have to choose the goal over what feels good in the moment.

There were plenty of times I wanted to say โ€œscrew it.โ€

But every time I chose to keep going, I moved one step closer.

Coming 2nd is something Iโ€™m incredibly proud of. ๐Ÿฅˆ

But Iโ€™m even more proud of what it took to get there.

The result is great.

But becoming the person who was willing to do what it took to achieve it means even more.

A proud son moment right here โ™ฅ๏ธ

Hereโ€™s how we worked on improving my mumโ€™s squat and range of motion:

1๏ธโƒฃ We dropped the ego and reduced the weight.

Getting stronger is great, but movement quality comes first. Reducing the load allowed her to focus on control, confidence and depth.

2๏ธโƒฃ We worked on her mobility and introduced a proper warm-up.

Taking the time to prepare her ankles, knees and hips helped her move more comfortably before squatting.

3๏ธโƒฃ We elevated her heels on a 5kg plate.

This reduced the demand on her ankle mobility, allowed her knees to travel forward more comfortably and helped her achieve a deeper squat while remaining upright.

4๏ธโƒฃ We used other exercises to support her progress.

Goblet squats and the leg press helped her practise a deeper range of motion while building strength and confidence.

This didnโ€™t happen through one magical adjustment. It came from reducing the weight, improving her preparation and choosing exercises that suited her.

Drop the ego, meet your body where it is and build from there ๐Ÿ’ช

I currently have availability for online coaching. If youโ€™re ready to improve your strength, movement and confidence, send me a message and letโ€™s get started ๐Ÿ‘

I never really thought Iโ€™d be someone who had visible abs ๐Ÿ˜…

Not because I didnโ€™t want them, I just didnโ€™t think I could ever get into that kind of shape.

But I did.

And the biggest thing I learned is this: itโ€™s rarely about ability, itโ€™s about belief and consistency.

Most people arenโ€™t stuck because they canโ€™t do it, theyโ€™re stuck because they donโ€™t think they can change.

You donโ€™t need perfect confidence to start. Just take the first step, then keep showing up.

And no, Iโ€™m not walking around with abs all year round eitherโ€ฆ and Iโ€™m completely okay with that ๐Ÿ˜‚

Believe in yourself a wee bit more. Youโ€™re probably capable of more than you think โค๏ธ

20KG DOWN!! ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ‘

What a milestone for Del.

20kg gone, but more importantly, a completely different level of confidence, fitness and strength ๐Ÿ’ช

This hasnโ€™t come from being perfect every single week.

Itโ€™s come from consistently showing up, putting the work in and getting straight back to it whenever life gets in the way.

Thatโ€™s what real, sustainable progress looks like.

And judging by the fact heโ€™s casually holding a 20kg plate like a trophyโ€ฆ I think we had to get this photo ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ†

Absolutely buzzing for you mate. Youโ€™ve earned every bit of this!

20kg down. Stronger. Fitter. And weโ€™re not finished yet ๐Ÿ‘Š

If youโ€™re looking to make a change yourself and want some help getting there, my messages are open ๐Ÿ“ฒ

Iโ€™ve gained 7 kg since my holiday and surprisingly, the world is still spinning ๐Ÿคฃ

No panic deficit. No food punishment. No living on chicken and fresh air.

Just back to tracking, training, steps and my usual routine.

A holiday hasnโ€™t ruined your progress. Give your body time to settle and keep moving forward ๐Ÿ™Œ

If you need help getting back on track, my messages are always open

Both of these photos were taken in Salou.

The first was four years ago, just after I qualified as a personal trainer.

On the outside, we were smiling. But behind that smile was a lot of uncertainty.

I was working in Superdrug earning minimum wage, hoping one day PT would become my full-time career. Megan was heading into unemployment, unsure of what came next. Money was tight, and we always said weโ€™d come back one day and experience Salou differently.

Fast forward four yearsโ€ฆ

Iโ€™m now four years qualified and three years fully self-employed, doing a job I genuinely love.

Megan is thriving in her full-time teaching career after working incredibly hard to get there.

This holiday felt different.

Not because the place had changed

It reminded me how important it is to stop and self-reflect.

Weโ€™re all so busy chasing the next goal that we rarely look back and appreciate how far weโ€™ve already come. Sometimes you donโ€™t realise how much youโ€™ve grown until you compare where you are today with where you once were.

One thing Iโ€™ve learned over the last four years is that who you surround yourself with matters.

Having someone by your side through the uncertainty, setbacks, and wins makes all the difference.

If youโ€™re going through a difficult season right now, keep going.

This is your sign to grab some supplies, head to a random beach, and watch the sunset ๐ŸŒ…

A core memory that I will remember forever
