Emma was awarded Colours for her incredible commitment and contributions to the club throughout this year as Captain and all her work leading up to now. We can all agree she has gone above and beyond in her role and is very deserving of the award!

Ollie received Half Blues for their sporting achievements and we have no doubt that they will go on to do even more great things.

Massive congratulations to everyone who competed in BUCS at the weekend. For many of you it was your first BUCS, which can be pretty daunting, especially with a record breaking number of entries! It was a great weekend away and I hope you all had lots of fun!

Special congratulations to Ollie who won silver in the Open Kata!! 🥈🥈🥈

Lots of valuable experience gained for future competitions.

With the new semester starting, here are the important events happening over the next few months!

!THESE ARE UPDATED TRAINING TIMES FOR SEMESTER 2!

We have a new training time for our Thursday training! Please make sure to sign-up for training if you are planning to come! This can be found in the UofG Sport app, the Karate club website, and at the link in our bio.

!! EGM !!

We will be hosting an EGM on Monday 20th October, just after training (somewhere on the main campus, will be confirmed nearer the time).

We are looking for two people to take on the roles of treasurer and social sec/ wellbeing officer! Anybody can do these roles, there are no prior requirements of being on a committee :))

Please consider running for a role as the club needs to fill these roles to continue running. If you want more information or have some questions you can talk to the former treasurer, Emma, and the current social sec, Max, or one of our former social secs, Efe!

Even if you're not running for a role please attend the EGM if you are able to as we need at least half of our club members to attend to vote in new committee :)

Next up is the vivacious Vice Captain Efe! Clearly a lover and not a fighter, Efe easily has the lowest attendance of all GUKC members. How she’s Vice Captain, we do not know. Moving on…

GU Karate Club’s superb secretary is Jen! Jen has fond memories of her first karate session and you can too!
