Deiniol Ap Môn Hardcore Fitness Centre and Rob Harman deserve far more recognition for what they actually gives back to the community.
They support local boxers, rugby and football teams, athletes, charity events and community projects, as well as providing sponsorships, donations and opportunities for people who need them.
A particular mention has to go to the support the give serving Armed Forces personnel, Reservists and veterans. For many who have served, having somewhere to train, maintain routine and still have that sense of camaraderie can be hugely important. This gym provides that, without making a big deal about it.
But now the gym itself needs supporting.
The debacle surrounding Anglesey Council's business rates has put yet another huge financial pressure on a small community business that is already giving so much back.
Local small businesses across Anglesey are being hit by rising costs and rates while trying to keep their doors open. These aren't faceless corporations. They're local businesses, employing local people and supporting local communities.
Hardcore is a proper community gym. No judgement, no pretence, just people training and supporting each other, and if we want places like this to still be here in five or ten years, we need to support them now.
