GOAL SETTING for swimmers 🏊🏼‍♀️
Get started on a log book!

1. Decide your overall goals for the season and follow the checklist:
🤔 Is it specific?
- Clearly state your goal
🤔 Is it measurable?
- Can you appropriately track the progress
🤔 Is it achievable?
- Can you accomplish this goal within a certain timeframe?
🤔 Is it relevant?
- Is your goal relevant to swimming and your overall plan?
🤔 What is the timeline?
- Give your goal a deadline. It could be a short-term or long-term goal!

2. Make sure NOT all of your goals are time-based.
- Sleep/Recovery goal 💤
- Nutrition/Hydration goal 💧
- Technique/Skill goal 🏊🏼‍♀️

Remember you can set a goal for training or racing… or both! Make sure your goals work around your life outside of swimming - we strive for a happy balance! 💪🏼

Setting goals are a great way to stay focused and motivated but they can also apply to a ‘bad’ session… give yourself a small goal even on the tough days! E.g. “I’m feeling like I don’t want to swim today so I will focus on trying to do 3-5 underwater kicks off of each wall to get better” ⭐️

WHAT A TEAM! 💙👏🏼

Yesterday a group of our swimmers travelled to the Mountbatten Centre (Portsmouth) to attend the AP Race Clinic! This was an incredible opportunity for our youngsters to swim under the coaching and guidance of GB swimmers and Olympic medalists- Adam Ramsay-Peaty and Lauren Cox 🥇

The day offered training in breaststroke, strength + conditioning, developing a competitive mindset and building athletic resilience. It was a chance for swimmers, coaches and parents to form new friendships and learn from one another. Everyone has come away feeling extra inspired and ready to take on a new season! ✨

A huge thank you to the lovely Beth and Liam for looking after our swimmers… And getting stuck in with a coaching mentoring/workshop too! A fantastic day for everyone involved 👏🏼

Last night was another successful night for our swimmers, at the second round of IOW champs 👏🏼 Huge Well Done to everyone that has competed in the last two weeks 🥳 Great to see so many swimmers happy and smiling. Our Club is growing and we are so proud of everyone who supports and plays a part in this team 💙
