A brilliant day introducing Kaustav to the delights of outdoor rock climbing. He is an experienced indoor climber so took to the rock well. We climbed 4 routes, 10 pitches and clocked up 10 🌟 The breeze and sun kept the midges away but the ticks were lurking. He is keen to climb a stack in his next trip down I’m already looking forward to that adventure 😀

Stunning conditions on the Aonach Eagach today with Emily and Tom. They had been wanting to traverse the ridge for years and the stars finally aligned. Early start to beat the crowds, low winds, atmospheric cloud and lovely chat made for a very enjoyable day out indeed 😀

So good to witness the progression over the past couple of days. Tom’s ability to take in and apply information was amazing to watch and these new skills will put him in good stead for the joy of uni boating starting in September.

One to one coaching can be the most rewarding but I also find it quite stressful as I put lots of pressure on myself to deliver the perfect day for the student. Today we had our first session together and with their limited paddling experience, I wanted to build up slowly. The lower garry was the perfect place to introduce a ton of WW foundation skills in the morning before testing and refining them on the middle in the afternoon. It was amazing to watch his progress due to his previous athletic experience and attitude towards learning. Looking forward to developing these skills further tomorrow 😀

A brilliant rest day from the course, climbing a classic alpine route 😀 We woke at 0430 to be first on the route and enjoyed 11 pitches of uber classic clean granite in a stunning position.
