Works are scheduled from October 2026 on the "Stolen" Bridge (NN 1728 7680, highlighted Yellow in the attached image), a key structure on the Puggy Line route. Unfortunately, the bridge will need to be closed to through access while vegetation clearance, scaffold er****on and removal, and repairs to the bridge handrails are undertaken. Diversions will be in place throughout the duration of these works, which are anticipated to take up to three months to complete. We will confirm exact dates once the necessary contractors and resources for the structural repairs have been secured and agreed. At present, we are working towards a mid-October start, with the bridge closure potentially remaining in place until December 2026.

⚠️ Notice the works from Forestry and Land Scotland ⚠️

“During August 2026, FLS West Region will be undertaking general maintenance works on the Puggy Line route within Leanachan Forest. These works will include vegetation clearance and the use of a woodchipper to improve light levels and air circulation along the route, as well as repairs to a number of small bridges on the trail.

The route will remain open; however, users should expect some disruption and temporary control measures where our staff are actively working. We would ask members of the public to follow any signage and operator instructions encountered while accessing the trail during this period.”

One for all you lovers of some steeper riding! This weekends dig will be focusing on bringing Grizzly Bear back to life and reopening it after some pretty extensive storm damage over the winter.

1 dog and 13 humans made significant progress on the wooded section of Sunset yesterday is some proper minging weather. Now looking much flowier and easier to carry speed, it’s really shaping up to be a great trail for all.

Due to how wet the ground is, please give this trail some time to settle, a huge amount of effort and time have gone into getting the trail ready for summer.

New Pilot Programme to Give Kinlochleven Pupils Hands-On Experience in Scotland’s Mountain Bike Industry

A new pilot programme launched in Spring 2026 will give pupils at Kinlochleven High School the opportunity to gain real-world experience in trail building, event delivery, and outdoor careers through a unique mountain biking initiative.
The trail building project forms part of the innovative From Trail Concept to Enduro Event programme — a Developing Young Workforce (DYW) partnership initiative led by the DYW team within the Lochaber Chamber of Commerce and Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS), alongside Lochaber Trails Association, Forestry and Land Scotland and CRC Trails and draws on methodologies from the international DIRTT (Developing Inter-European Resources for Trail building Training) project.
The innovative programme will see eight pupils from S1 to S3 take part in a blended learning experience combining classroom sessions, online learning, and hands-on trail construction. Participants will work alongside industry professionals to understand how mountain bike trails and events progress from initial concept through to delivery.

Today marked the first day of our weeklong course with Kinlochleven high school and Developing the Young Workforce. Today consisted of Tree snagging and clearing fall zones. Laying the foundation for tomorrow.
