A TEN-GOAL THRASHING! 👀🔥

After hearing about Kirrie’s conference via various sources going into today’s game, we decided there was only one way to respond — let the football do the talking. ⚽️

With a full, strong squad available for today’s game, unfortunately some players missed out on this occasion, but the lads who took to the pitch certainly made sure they put on a show!

We started the game strongly, creating chances and unlucky not to take the lead earlier. Our luck finally changed in the 18th minute, when our number 9, RC9 (CORBITT), was in the right place at the right time to head home and make it 1-0.

Just four minutes later, GODFREY got himself on the scoresheet to double our advantage. 🔥

Kirrie pulled one back in the 25th minute to make it 2-1, before the referee pointed to the spot just three minutes later after deeming the ball had struck one of our player’s arms inside the box. Despite the arm being clearly down by his side, the decision stood and Kirrie converted from the spot to bring the game level at 2-2.

But that only seemed to wake us up.

WILSON then produced two goals in two minutes to put us back in control! His first was a superb left-footed free kick from outside the box before he followed it up with a decent strike to make it 4-2. 💥

The final ten minutes of the half were fairly even, with both sides creating opportunities, but we went into the break two goals to the good.

HALF TIME

We made a couple of changes at half time and changed our formation, with HOGG & GODFREY making way for VAUGHAN & HARKIN.

We didn’t have to wait long for the next goal.

Just two minutes into the second half, CORBITT grabbed his second of the afternoon to make it 5-2.

On 55 minutes, BURTON got himself on the scoresheet to make it six, before, you guessed it… RC9 completed his hat-trick on the 60-minute mark! 👀🔥

7-2.

And we weren’t finished there.

CRIGHTON added our eighth, before an own goal made it 9-2.

Then came the icing on the cake.

MCKENZIE rounded off an absolutely outstanding afternoon for Strathmore, putting the ball in the net for our tenth goal and putting Kirrie to their beds! 😴🔥

An outstanding team performance from the lads today. Every player played their part, we stuck together, adapted when needed and showed exactly what this squad is capable of. 👏

A massive 10-2 victory against our quiet neighbours and another huge three points in the bag. 💪

We can enjoy this one, but we know there is still plenty more to come from this group. We can only get better! 👌😎

Now our attention turns to next Sunday, when we travel to face Dundee AFC in the Quarter Final of the EBM Cup. 🏆
