All 78 bunkers across our course have been excavated, reshaped, edged, and refilled with premium-quality sand. Better presentation, improved playability, and an elevated golf experience.

Well it is that time of year when the question is asked why in the middle of the season we do maintenance work to the putting surfaces.

During this period, all greens will undergo scarification to a depth of 5–7mm to remove accumulated organic matter (thatch) and improve surface quality. The greens will then be thoroughly cleaned before being overseeded and top-dressed. The dressing will be brushed into the surface and the greens rolled to ensure a smooth and consistent putting surface. The program will be completed with an application of fertiliser and irrigation to encourage rapid germination and recovery.

Carrying out this work in July provides ideal growing conditions, with warmer soil temperatures and longer daylight hours helping to maximise seed establishment and turf recovery. As a result, we expect the greens to recover quickly and continue to improve throughout the remainder of the season, delivering healthier turf, enhanced surface consistency and improved year-round playing conditions.

Great work from Ben and team from Whitemoss Eco today fitting brand new bunker liner to all 14 of the par 3 greenside traps through Greentech.
The 78 bunkers are currently going through a major upgrade of removing the old sand and replacing with a much better Fife dark brown sand from Aitkins.
