Yesterday we had the privilege of holding our 2nd annual Valhalla Highland Strongman competition at Cortachy Highland Games.

The lads put on an immense display for the observing crowd, leaving it all out on the field!
For the first time, we have a continuous winner from Strathmore, and this year's champion is Brett Hampton. π

Finishing the day at Cortachy Highland Games is ye olde fans favourite - the Atlas Stones.
5 x stones all loaded up onto whisky barrels, fastest time wins!
Fun fact for those not in the know - these were originally referred to as the McGlashen Stones but the name was changed in 1993 and has stuck around ever since then.

The penultimate event for our athletes at Cortachy Highland Games will be another new one with a Yoke Walk & Sandbag Carry.
Carry the yoke down one end, and then return whilst holding a heavy bag of sand, easy.

The middle event at this year's Cortachy Highland Games is a brand new one for us, the Apollon Wheel Squat.
Competitors will squat the weighted bar down to the foam pads on either side before returning to the start position.
Most reps in 60 seconds wins!

Aftter throwing that rock a few times, the lads will move on to the Tractor Tyre Race at Cortachy Highland Games!
A favourite from last year - simply carry the handled tyre over the line, and then flip the bigger, heavier tyre back up across the starting line.
