An update on our up and coming walks.
Saturday 27th sees us doing a lovely walk starting from Balkello Woods Community Car Park. Walking up to Auchterhouse hill enjoying the fantastic views of the Tay, then round the back of the hills with great views of the glens.
We will be meeting at 9:30 at Market Muir Car Park, Forfar, with a start time at Balkello woods Community Car park at 10:00. This is a 5.5 mile walk, can be muddy in places - poles are advised, just in case.
11th July - is our away day walk and meal - Balmoral Cairns with a meal at the Bridge of Cally @ 5pm. Meeting at Market Muir Car Park @ 9:00. The start time 11:00 Balmoral castle Car park.

Broughty Ferry /Monifieth circular was our walk on Saturday the 13th, we started at Dawson Park, following the cycle path and Green circular route through Broughty Ferry and Monifieth to the shores of the Tay and returning along the riverside path and town. Lovely walk was had and the rain stayed away.
The strollers are walking on Wednesday 17th June at Linross just past Glamis. They are meeting at East Green car park at 9:45 or at the start of the walk 10:00 at the lay-by at the old railway bridge. Short walk, old railway, lovely walk and hopefully we’ll see the wild orchids.

On Saturday 30th May our Ramble took us to Glen Esk and the Hill of Rowan and surrounding countryside. Great walk, fantastic views and good company. Check out the photos. Our strollers are having a local walk on the 3rd June, meeting in Asda car park going up Lour Road, through the cemetary and woodland beyon then heading to Reid Park and back to Asda.
Saturday May 2nd we are walking from Stonehaven to Dunnottar Castle.
We start at Stonehaven behind the Toolbooth, more information on this during the walk. Spectacular views views will be seen on the short incline. We will take a short detour to the war memorial on Blackhill before continuing onto Dunnottar Castle, where we will stop for lunch.
This is a lovely circular walk with amazing views.
Meeting place is at Market Muir Carpark, Forfar at 9:00. Start time at The Backies Car Park Stonehaven

Our Saturday walk at the Ministers Path at Prosen was lovely. Weather was very kind to us. Views were amazing, see below.
On Wednesday 22nd April, the strollers are walking from Bellies Brae to Kinnordy Loch, Kirriemuir - leaving from East Green Car park Forfar @ 9:45 with the walk starting from Bellies Brae @ 10:00.
2nd May sees us walking from Stonehaven to Dunnotar Castle, more information to follow and will also be on our website:

These two photographs were taken by one of our members, think you’ll agree these are amazing.
On Saturday the 18th we will be walking the Ministers Path. This is well used track from the church in Glen Prosen village towards Glen Clovis, using the original ministers path which he used from Glen Prosen Village to Glen Clovis Church. This is a lovely walk with beautiful views, the main walk will stop before the descent down to the path to Glen Clova. If people which to walk further they can do so when we stop for lunch. We will return be the same route.
Please note that at the junction of Dykehead the minor road to Glen Prosen is CLOSED. There is an alternative via Pearsie and East Lednathie and can be reached from both Forfar and Kirriemuir.

On Wednesday the 8th April we are having a leisurely walk at Balgavies loch. This is a lovely walk and you may see an Osprey or two (bring your binoculars-you never know). You may also see highlands coos or swans.
Meeting at East Greens Car Park, Forfar @ 9:45 or 10:00 at the main car park at Balgavies Loch.
