Some of the best things you take from dance aren’t the steps… they’re the people you danced beside. 💙
A little throwback to show rehearsals with our seniors — long rehearsals, lots of laughs, shared memories and friendships formed along the way.
Two of these lovely girls have now taken their next steps beyond JDS, which makes photos like this even more special. 🫶
Because classes change, shows finish and dancers eventually move on… but the friendships made in the studio can last far beyond it.

🌈 THIS TERM IN MUSICAL THEATRE MINIS… 🌈

We’re off to see the Wizard! ✨

This term, our Musical Theatre Minis are stepping into the wonderful world of The Wizard of Oz! 🌪️👠🌈

We’ll be following the journey of three very special characters — the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion — as they travel along the Yellow Brick Road, each searching for something they think they’re missing. 💛

Through singing, dancing and acting, our Minis will explore their different characters, build confidence, use their imaginations and learn how to tell a story through performance.

🦁 A Lion searching for courage

But perhaps they’ll discover they had what they needed all along… ✨

We can’t wait to see our littlest performers bring this magical adventure to life! 🌈🎭

Our Junior Jazz dancers don’t just learn steps — they learn how to perform! 💫
With a focus on jazz technique, musicality, confidence and stage presence, we’re always working towards being performance ready so our dancers can make the most of the exciting performance opportunities and events that come our way throughout the year.
Whether it’s on stage or out performing in the community, we love giving our dancers opportunities to get out there and do what they love! 💙 🩵

From rehearsals in the studio to that final moment on stage ✨

There’s something so special about watching a dance grow week by week and then seeing it come to life under the lights! 💙

Our Modern classes are back this week and we have a handful of spaces remaining, with classes from rising 4s upwards.

And for dancers who love this style… why not give Jazz a try too? We currently have spaces in our Junior Jazz class, Thursdays 4:45–5:30pm, suitable for ages 9–13.

There’s something magical about those very first ballet classes — tiny ballet shoes, new friendships, growing confidence and the excitement of discovering a love of dance. 🩰
Our First Steps Ballet classes are specially created for our littlest dancers from age 2, introducing them to the wonderful world of ballet through music, movement, imagination and lots of fun.

💙 DANCE ISN’T JUST FOR THE KIDS! 💙
Whether you danced when you were younger, have always wanted to give it a try, or simply fancy doing something fun just for you, our adult classes are the perfect place to start!
Our classes are friendly, welcoming and relaxed, with no pressure and plenty of laughs along the way. Come on your own or bring a friend — you’ll soon feel part of the JDS family.
✨ Adult Ballet – Thursday 6:45–7:45pm
✨ Adult Tap – Beginners – Wednesday 7:15–8:00pm
✨ Adult Tap – Improvers/Advanced – Thursday 7:45–8:30pm
No need to worry about previous experience or being “good enough” — our adult classes are all about enjoying dance, learning new skills, keeping active and meeting a brilliant group of people.

A little throwback to rehearsals for our Taking Flight Showcase ✨💙

I absolutely loved these costumes — there’s just something so special about seeing the choreography, costumes and dancers all come together! 🥰✨

Watching this has made us even more excited to be back in the studio TODAY for our Open Day!
