Huge congratulations to Wyre Tri members Kevin & Steve on two fantastic performances at the Great North Run! 👏

🎯 Kevin set himself the goal of going sub-2 hours… and absolutely delivered!
⏱️ 1:57:07 — GOAL SMASHED! 🔥

And Steve… WOW! 🤯
⏱️ 1:26:48 — absolutely smashed it!

Steve has been putting the hours of training in, and it’s definitely paying off. 💪 And in a rare moment of going against his usual advice of “don’t go off like an idiot” 😂, Steve actually showed some serious restraint at the start, reined it in when he needed to and saved plenty for a strong finish. 👏🔥

Two brilliant performances and two very well-earned results.

And that last one is something very special…

🏆 The Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming is one of the ultimate challenges for open water swimmers — completing the three iconic swims of Windermere, Coniston and Ullswater.

To finish all three is an incredible achievement in itself, but to finish as the #1 male skin swimmer in the Triple Crown is something else! 🤯👏

What a swim, what a season and what an achievement, Elliot. Wyre Tri is incredibly proud of you! 💙

🔥 ROC TRIATHLON #2 COMPLETE! 🔥

Huge congratulations to Chris on completing his second Roc Triathlon of the year this weekend in an incredible 7:38:30! 💪🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

This time it was The ROC England — a brutal 112km adventure from Windermere to Scafell Pike, with a massive 6,916ft of ascent! ⛰️🔥

As part of his 40th birthday challenge, Chris has set himself the ultimate goal of completing all 3 Roc Triathlons in 2026… and he’s now 2️⃣ down, 1️⃣ to go!

Next stop: Kinlochleven & Ben Nevis 🇬🇧

🔥 Sub-10 hours? Try 9:15:59! 🔥

A massive, huge congratulations to Wyre Tri’s very own James for absolutely dismantling Ironman Copenhagen! Crossing that finish line in a mind-blowing 9:15:59, James didn't just break the 10-hour barrier—he shattered it.

This was Ironman #4 for James, but the road to this finish line wasn't easy. After facing a major setback at Hamburg, he didn't back down. Instead, he channeled that frustration into absolute fuel, trusted the process, and came back hungrier than ever. That mental toughness and grit is what Wyre Tri is all about. What an incredible comeback and a masterclass in resilience! 💪🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

The crazy part? He’s already signed up for Copenhagen again next year!

James, your dedication inspires the entire club. We are all beyond proud of you. Rest up, enjoy the celebrations with your family, and know that the whole of Wyre Tri will be right behind you as you chase down the next goal!

Huge congratulations to Katie on completing her very first triathlon at the gorgeous (and tough!) Lake Windermere! Crossing that finish line in 3:27 is an incredible achievement—and this is only the beginning.

What a stunning few weeks of racing for Wyre Tri’s very own Mick! 🏆🔥

Mick has been on absolute fire recently, stringing together a masterclass series of results across swim, bike, and run. Check out this incredible lineup:

🏊‍♂️ River Dee Mile Swim: 1st VET (31:57)

🏃‍♂️ Media City 5k: 1st VET (21:27)

🚴‍♂️ Salford Triathlon: 1st VET (1:18:27)

🥇 London T100: 1st in Age Category (2:35:42)

What makes this winning streak even more special is what happened behind the scenes. Mick has battled through some tough injury setbacks this year, which meant months of patient rehab, cross-training, and pure mental toughness. Instead of letting those setbacks hold him back, he put his head down, trusted the process, and came back stronger, faster, and more determined than ever.

Mick embodies everything Wyre Tri is about. His work ethic, positivity, and resilience make him a total inspiration to everyone in the club—proving that with patience and determination, you really can bounce back stronger than before.

Huge congratulations to Wyre Tri’s very own Tony for conquering the legendary Bob Graham Round! 🏔️🏃‍♂️💨

Crossing the finish line in an incredible 22 hours and 58 minutes, Tony tackled 66 miles, 42 of the Lake District’s highest peaks, and a brutal 27,000ft of elevation—all in under the 24-hour mark! ⏱️💪

Taking on the Bob Graham requires far more than just high-level fitness. It demands relentless mental resilience. Completing it means running through extreme exhaustion, navigating steep, technical terrain in the dark, fighting unpredictable mountain weather, and digging deep when every muscle in your body is screaming to quit. To push through 23 hours of relentless climbing and descending takes a sheer determination that few possess. We couldn't be prouder of you, Tony! A huge shoutout as well to all the support runners, pacers, and navigators who helped make it happen. Pure teamwork at its finest. 🙌

Rest up, celebrate big, and get those legs up on the sofa—you’ve certainly earned it! 🍻🛋️

Huge congratulations to Wyre Tri’s very own Mick on an absolute masterclass at the T100 Olympic distance triathlon! 🏆🥇
Mick stormed to 1st place in his age category with a phenomenal total time of 2:35:42! ⏱️🔥
Here’s how he crushed it across all three disciplines:
🏊‍♂️ Swim: 28:18
🚴‍♂️ Bike: 1:12:55
🏃‍♂️ Run: 47:14
It hasn't been a smooth road to get here. Mick has had a tough year battling through injuries, but his relentless positivity, grit, and patience have paid off in the best possible way. He’s proven that with the right mindset, you can overcome any setback and come back stronger. 💪✨
Mick, you are an absolute inspiration to everyone at Wyre Tri Club, and we couldn't be prouder of you! Enjoy the win! 🎉🙌
