Please have a look, share the post and help us spread the word!

Thank you all for your continued support! 🙌

Hi, and welcome to our Cash for Kids Sports Challenge fundraising page! We're raising money to help the club buy some new gym equipment, t-shirts and tracksuits. This will help us massively as we live in a deprived area and clubs like ours simply could not operate without these kind of fundraisers.....

🚨 North Tyneside residents back proposed action on masked e-bike riders

Residents in North Tyneside have spoken in support of proposed new powers aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour involving e-bikes and e-scooters.

North Tyneside Council is considering a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) that could allow authorised officers to ask someone to remove a face covering where there are reasonable grounds to believe it is being used to hide their identity while committing crime or anti-social behaviour, or to cause intimidation, harassment, alarm or distress.

Importantly, the proposal would not be a blanket ban on face coverings. Exemptions would apply where coverings are being worn for legitimate reasons, including religious, cultural, medical, work, weather or personal-safety purposes.

The discussion follows concerns from residents about masked riders allegedly travelling dangerously through streets and areas with pedestrians.

Some residents told the Local Democracy Reporting Service that they feel balaclavas and other face coverings can make encounters with speeding riders more intimidating, particularly for older or vulnerable pedestrians.

The council is considering whether the proposed powers should apply across North Tyneside or only in specific areas.

With hundreds of motorcycle-related crime and anti-social behaviour incidents recorded across the borough over the past year, the issue has become a growing concern for many residents.
