Braes Football Club

On a sun soaked Little Kerse Astro the crowd were provided with an entertaining game as we welcomed Carbrain Golds for game number 3 of this session.

Braes were quick out the blocks as Adam found space and slotted in the opener to keep his goal a game record going.

The first half was end to end with Lewis having some nice saves in goal and passing out well from the back.

Carbrain scored just before half time with a near finish from their striker.

After a quick water break at half time to recover and refuel the boys started the second half like the first with Cooper scoring the first of his two goals.

Braxton was up and down the left and Adam never stopped running, Ellis played well in both wide positions and fully deserved his goal.

Lewis was calm in possession when he came out for the second half with Angus Mac glad to get in goals from half time after an energetic first half in midfield.

Angus Fee got on the score sheet for the second week running and also played well when he moved to midfield and defence.

Four very proud coaches today and seven very hot and knackered boys after their efforts.

Was pleasing to see some good passing moves and the work in training being shown during the games.

And most importantly all the boys were smiling today and are enjoying their football!!

2017s Match report

Lewis was our Captain today and he lead the boys from the start, everyone was quick out the blocks and settled into the game well, passing the ball about like we’ve been practising at training.

Flynn was called into action a few times in the first half and had some outstanding saves throughout the game.

Braxton and Lewis were helping us build from back and the front four of Adam, Ellis, Angus Fee and Hugo were working well too.

The first goal came from a good first touch from Adam followed by a well taken shot into the roof of the net.

Angus Fee then got on the scoresheet with another great shot and he led the line well up front.

After our usual changes at the first quarter Cooper and Angus Mac came on and kept the momentum going the Braes way.

Following a stunning pass from Angus Fee to put Cooper through on goal, Cooper finished calmly for our third goal.

Further changes at half time and in the second half saw Angus Mac, Ellis, Hugo and Adam work together well going forward creating more chances and passing play.

Lewis, Cooper and Angus Fee worked well in defence to protect Flynn’s goal and any breakthrough saw Flynn react brilliantly.

Toward the final quarter Angus Mac and Braxton came close to scoring, Braxton rattling the post and seeing the rebound well saved.

The coaches are all mega proud of the boys and how they are working hard in training and putting that into the games. For our second game we can see progression and the boys are enjoying their football which is the most important thing.
