⛵ Thinking about what comes next after junior sailing?

The RYA is running a series of Regional Youth Class Taster Events — a brilliant opportunity to try some of the recognised youth classes and see which might suit you best.

Sailors can experience and compare:

ILCA • 29er • 420 • iQFOiL • NACRA 15

These events are aimed at sailors moving on from a junior class, or anyone considering a change between youth classes.

All boats and boards are provided, qualified coaches will be there throughout the day, and in double-handed boats sailors will be paired with experienced crew.

💷 £25 per sailor
👥 Maximum 12 places per event
🎟 First come, first served

These events are purely about having a go, exploring your options and finding out what you enjoy — they are not part of the Talent Academy selection process.

So if you're beginning to wonder “what will I sail next?”, this is a great way to find out.

Exe Squad went racing again… this time all the way to Starcross!

Stefan and Barney took their ongoing arm wrestle onto the water, battling it out once again to take 1st and 2nd. These two really do make each other work for it!

But it was a brilliant day for the whole Exe squad, with some great racing and all our juniors doing us proud.

Huge thanks to Starcross for hosting us, the warm welcome — and for somehow arranging such glorious sailing weather!

Our Junior Sailing End of Season Meeting is this Friday at 6.00pm in the Club Bar.

If you’re a junior sailor or parent, we’d love to see you there.

We’ll be:
• looking back at the past year
• voting in new committee members
• sharing plans and ideas for the year ahead

If you want to understand what Junior Sailing is all about, this is the meeting to come to. The more people there, the better.

It’ll be a relaxed evening with the bar open, chips available, and you’re very welcome to bring a plate to share.

We’ll be welcoming a fleet of Toppers to Exe this weekend for the ITCA Training Weekend!

Did you know… the classic Topper was the first sailing dinghy to be injection-moulded in polypropylene? The process was so precise that hull weights varied by no more than 28g — not bad for an entire dinghy! One of the reasons Toppers have made such brilliant one-design racing boats for generations.

Good luck to everyone joining us on the water this weekend.

Unfortunately, our very own Rory won’t be out there with them while he recovers from a broken leg. Get well soon, Rory — we miss seeing this grin on the water!

Followed by a big club social with pizza and music from Zoe and the Ravens 🍕

The social is free to attend with no ticket required but please book if you’d like pizza or will be attending splash.
