🏏🌈 Last week, our Women & Girls' Development Officer, Ann-Marie Presswell, ran a 'meet and mingle' cricket taster session at the Out & Wild Festival in Bideford.

πŸ’™ Many people attending the festival come alone and find these sessions at the beginning of the festival important to help make connections and meet people in a more relaxed environment.

πŸ—£οΈ "It was fantastic to see so many participants come and give cricket a go. Everyone got fully involved and hopefully got to meet people they can spend time with over the weekend, as well as learn something about cricket! I am already looking forward to returning next year to support this unique festival, which is so valuable for the community it represents."

2️⃣8️⃣ groundskeepers from across the county joined us for training at Abbotskerswell Cricket Club last week!

🌱 The bumper attendance, which included several young club volunteers, saw practical guidance on pitch preparation and repair delivered by the Grounds Management Association's Phil Jeggo.

πŸ—£οΈ "It was a fantastic opportunity to pick the brains of Phil Jeggo and ground staff around the county who have years of experience and knowledge on the essentials of pitch preparation."

πŸ—£οΈ Wicketz is "a great way to learn new skills, play lots of fun cricket and meet new friends."

🏏 Meet Mia, who has gone from one of just three participants at our first-ever Wicketz session in Exeter two years ago to attending MCC Foundation Hubs, leading cricket sessions at school and joining the Devon Cricket Performance Pathway!
