KeltX Mixed Doubles with Anna Foster 🔥
At the weekend, Anna and I completed our first KeltX race together, finishing in 1:02:28
That placed us:
11th out of 51 in our category
25th out of 107 mixed teams
102nd out of 416 teams overall
It was an incredibly hot day, which made the race even tougher 🥵
KeltX includes seven 800m runs with a fitness station after each run
Across the seven runs I worked out that we averaged around 4:38 a km, which shows just how much Anna’s running has improved
When she started running last year, her 5km time was around 40 minutes
She has since brought that down to around 26 minutes, completed a marathon, taken nearly half an hour off her half-marathon time, raced HYROX and now performed brilliantly at KeltX
She was equally impressive on the stations
Only a few weeks ago, Anna was struggling to swing a 20kg kettlebell overhead
At KeltX, she completed the swings under fatigue and made light work of the 30kg sandbag lunges
Since joining Stronger Together in October 2024, Anna has become stronger, fitter and far more confident
She can now perform multiple bodyweight pull-ups and dips, hip thrust over 140kg for reps and continues to challenge herself
Competing alongside her was brilliant. She worked hard, stayed positive throughout and was great company all day. Anna is simply someone who is great to be around, which made the day even more enjoyable for myself
From a 40-minute 5km to maintaining a strong pace throughout KeltX in difficult conditions is phenomenal progress
Well done, Anna. You should be incredibly proud of yourself 👏🏻💪🏻

Sophie signed up for my Stronger Together female group coaching programme in January having not used a gym for years, so understandably she may have felt a little anxious or nervous about getting started again.
But she got stuck in straight away, fitted into the group brilliantly and has become such a friendly, supportive and positive person to train alongside — just like all the other ladies in the group.
Throughout June, Sophie completed an incredible 14 training sessions:
💪🏻 8 Group Coaching sessions
🔥 3 Endurance sessions
🏃🏻♀️ 3 HYROX sessions
That works out at roughly one training session every other day throughout the month, which is fantastic consistency.
Sophie regularly completes two Group Coaching sessions every week and has also become a very regular attendee at Thursday Endurance and Saturday HYROX.
One of the biggest improvements I’ve seen is in Sophie’s fitness.
When she first started in January, she was capable of far less during the Endurance and HYROX sessions, but she can now do so much more and keep working for much longer.
A number of the other ladies have commented on how much her fitness has improved, which shows just how noticeable her progress has been.
Her strength is continuing to improve to with plenty more progress still to come.
June was also a busy and stressful month for Sophie outside of the gym. She had recently bought a house and was planning a house move, alongside dealing with some difficult things in her personal life.
Despite all of that, she continued to prioritise her training and remained incredibly consistent.
That is exactly what progress is about.
It isn’t about life always being easy or waiting for the perfect time. It is about continuing to show up and doing what you can, even when life is busy or stressful.
Sophie has made brilliant progress since January, has become a valued member of the Stronger Together community and thoroughly deserves this recognition.
Well done, Sophie! 👏🏻🏆

We’re now over 6 months into the year
That could have been 6 months of working towards your goals…
6 months of getting stronger
6 months of improving your fitness
6 months of building better habits
6 months of feeling more confident
6 months of prioritising your health
Or it might have been 6 months of saying:
“I’m too busy”
“It’s not the right time”
“I’ll start next week”
“I’ll wait until life calms down”
“I’ll get back into it soon”
And I’m not saying that to make anyone feel guilty
Life is busy. Things get in the way
Motivation comes and goes
But the truth is, another 6 months will pass just as quickly
Before you know it, we’ll be in January 2027
So ask yourself this:
If it was January 2027 and you looked back at the next 6 months, would you be proud of what you did?
Imagine how different things could be if you started now
Not with some extreme plan
Not by trying to be perfect
Not by cutting out everything you enjoy
But by taking small, consistent steps in the right direction
Training 2-3 times a week
Eating a bit better
Getting stronger
Improving your fitness
Building habits you can actually stick to
Slow and steady progress really does add up
You don’t need to change your whole life overnight
You just need to stop waiting for the “perfect time” and start doing something
Because 6 months from now, you’ll either be glad you started…
Or you’ll wish you had
If you’re ready to make the most of the next 6 months, drop me a message with “Stronger Together” and I’ll let you know how I can help you reach your fitness goals

“How did you spend your birthday?”
Running a 10km race, obviously 😂
Last Friday evening I ran the Exeter 10km River Run, alongside a few of my clients who were also taking part
It was hot, humid, sweaty and definitely not ideal PB conditions
They’d even added an extra water station, but by around 8km in I was absolutely gasping for another drink 😅
I finished in 48:01, which was actually 14 seconds slower than I ran it last year
Annoying? A little bit
But I also know I couldn’t have given any more on the day
I went through the first kilometre in around 4:40, which was fine… then got a bit carried away and ran the second kilometre in 4:20, which was probably a bit too quick
And yes, I paid for that later 😂
From there it became less about running the perfect race and more about digging in, grinding it out and just trying to keep moving as well as I could
Sometimes races go perfectly
Sometimes conditions are tough, pacing isn’t ideal, and you just have to battle through
But I’m still proud of the effort
I pushed as hard as I could, I didn’t give up, and I finished 3rd in my age group 🥉
Admittedly, there were only 14 of us in the age group… but I’ll absolutely take any win I can from any race
The long-term goal is still to run a sub 45-minute 10km one day
I haven’t given up on that yet
But I also know that if I want it, I’ll need to train more specifically for that distance and earn it properly
For now though, not a bad way to spend my birthday
Hot, sweaty, uncomfortable… but weirdly enjoyable
And followed by plenty of food, which is obviously the most important part 🎂
