Mini pony days: Monday - Friday 10-1 throughout the holidays! These are perfect for the less experienced children.

Activity Afternoons - every Wednesday and some Tuesdays (2- 5pm) throughout the holidays. These are for the more experienced children.

There are also daytime spots during the weekday to book in regular lessons

If you haven't filled out a rider registration/waiver form in the last 6 months please head to our website to do so or you can complete one on the tablet in the tackroom

~RDA Horses Wanted~

We are looking for horses/ponies suitable for our RDA clients to join our team at Oakland's, lease/loan/buy or working livery considered.

Ideally between 14-15.2hh and 8yrs or over, although we would look at a younger if they have had life experience and an old head.

The new team member should have a very calm nature, schooled to ride on the flat and happy to walk out down our lanes and across the fields. Ifs, buts and imperfections understood! Any shape or size welcome we teach a wide variety of clients.

We offer a varied life with 24 hour supervision and all year round turnout available. 5* yard with references on request and over 50 years experience in the industry. Many options if finances are a consideration, happy to chat through any questions.

Please wear suitable clothing for riding

We know with the nice weather you want to stay cool but for your own comfort and safety in the saddle you will need to wear suitable clothing

Tops that cover your shoulders and torso
Full length trousers
Bring socks to wear inside riding boots

We will have to turn you away if you are not in suitable clothing

With the nice weather we have been having we have been cracking on with the spring cleaning!

The stables and tackroom are all having a clean out and repaint - thank you Tom for your painting skills!

When you have to bring them all out you realise how many saddles we have!l 🫣

Our thoughts are with the family of long time customer and friend to the stables Paul Cummings who recently passed away.

Paul was one of the original riding school customers as a child when we first opened over 50 years ago. Since then he has ridden for Joyce at shows, brought his own children to learn to ride here and had his own horses stabled with us.

He will be missed by us all here at Oaklands

Congratulations to our Pony Club members 🎉🎉

Monday night saw our members take their Pony Club tests (a mix of D,D+ & C depending on level) and we are pleased to say they all passed!

Instructors Debbie and Jaz both said they were very proud of them all and it made the dark winter nights of lessons all worth it!

The pony club tests are a recognised qualification so the perfect starting point for any young equestrian.

Saturday shout out to 2 of our riders Milly and Daisy!

In the Easter holidays Milly and Daisy took Amigo and Bo off to camp for a week of pony fun and learning.

All 4 of them had a great time and Milly won the most improved rider award on Amigo!

Well done both, keep up the hard work you are both doing so well!
