Epsom Oddballs Running Club

What a 24hrs! The Planning committee have literally been working round the clock on this one with meeting finishing at 10pm last night and then the WhatsApp chat starting again from 7am!!

We are so happy to announce we’ve agreed with all our suppliers to be able to move just one week later to 3rd July!

An email has already gone out to all participants giving you options to run, transfer you place to a friend for free or take a £10 discount for next years event.

Please spread the word within your run clubs of the new date - signs ups are actually going to be open for another week for those that couldn’t make the original date.

New Date Announcement for 2000 Perch

Due to the current heat wave we took the decision last night to postpone the Perch. This is with the safety of both our 420 runners in mind and the 60 volunteers, some of which will be required to be outside in excess of 6 hours setting up/ closing down.

This has been an extremely tough decision but I hope you all understand, safety and welfare for all really has to be the priority.

We have been working extremely hard already to secure a new date which we hope to be able to announce very soon, we just need to confirm with all of our relevant suppliers.

The decision was only confirmed last night around 8pm with the planning committee, but I know news spreads quickly! Official email comms will go out to entrants this morning stating the postponement.

I’m sure there will be lots of questions and we’ll look to address all of those so please just give us a day to try to confirm the new date.

It was a hot one 🥵 this morning for our 9 members who took on the Ranelagh Harriers Ranelagh 10k. Thanks as always for a great race 👍

This week 53 of our members took on 20 different parkruns including:

1 at Abingdon; 2 at Banstead Woods; 1 at Bognor Regis; 5 at Brooklands; 1 at Bushy Park, Caffarella 🇮🇹, Durham, Egham Orbit, Flatts Lane, and Flint Castle; 2 at Frimley Lodge; 1 at Kilkenny Lane Country; 2 at Lymington Woodside and Mole Valley; 26 at Nonsuch; and 1 at Peel, University of Stirling, Wimbledon Common, Y Promenâd, and York Community Woodland!!

Congratulations to Emelie Lindqvist for being awarded our May Runner of the Month after her epic performance at the Brighton Run to the Sea 50k where she finished 4th!

Our various groups headed off over the trails this morning giving the Perch route one last recce run as a group. It’s looking good!

Our members recce ran the 2000 Perch course last night. It was a little muddier than we’re expecting on race day after the recent downpours.

Course is looking good though 👍
