Our greens team are the unsung heroes of Theydon Bois! 🌱⛳
A couple of times a year, they carry out essential maintenance work to keep our greens performing at their very best. It's an intensive process - hundreds of plugs of grass taken from each green, and tonnes of sand brushed in to encourage healthy growth and firm, true surfaces.
This time around, the team used circa 60 tonnes of sand across the greens, completing the entire process in just a few days and in searing summer heat. It's hard, physical work and they did it without missing a beat.
Just as the work was completed, three of our greens were vandalised by individuals on bikes. It was a frustrating setback, but our team responded immediately and with the same dedication they bring to everything they do.
We're delighted to report that all three greens are back in play and repairing rapidly. The work carried out will stand the course in great stead right through to spring, and the greens will be even better than before in no time.
