Restorative Yoga: Settling Into Stillness ✨

As we move from summer's vibrancy into the cooler, darker, irregular energy of Autumn season, our nervous systems ask for something different — stillness instead of stimulation, spaciousness instead of striving.

Join me for an evening of , held with the intention of and silence.

In stillness, the body isn't doing nothing — it's doing everything. Inflammation softens. Cells repair. The nervous system finds its way back to balance. This is where anti-aging really happens: in the quiet, in the exhale, in the letting go.

Expect long-held, supported poses, soft transitions, and space to simply be — no effort, no agenda, just permission to arrive.

I had the privilege of being trained in therapeutic restorative yoga by Judith Hanson Lasater, widely recognized as one of the leading teachers worldwide and the Queen of Restorative Yoga, alongside her daughter, Lizzie Lasater. So, my approach to restorative is based on solid science and traditional healing.

🧘‍♀️✨ An unexpected gift today.

I was having a picnic with friends when a group practicing yoga in the park caught my eye. I couldn't resist wandering over to watch for a bit — and before I knew it, my body was buzzing with the urge to join their circle.

Then I saw the teacher's warm, inviting smile. So there I was, jeans and picnic outfit and all, trainers off, joining in on a spare picnic tapestry someone kindly offered me. I don't think I've felt that light and at peace in a long time — not since I retired myself from teaching yoga full-time last October to join a None-Profit org and the NHS, after 20+ years on the mat.

The best part? This was Chase's very first class ever teaching 🥰. You'd never have guessed it — the sequencing was gentle yet powerful, and she held the space beautifully. 🌿 Thanks to the Universe for bringing her and her circle into my day in a Sunday afternoon ✨️ 💕

I live too far to make her classes a regular schedule, but I'll be back when I can — and I'm telling all my yoga friends who live around Victoria Park to go and find her.

Chase the flow yoga , thank you for such a beautiful practice and for Start of the Month Reflection Card 🩷 . Wishing you all the light and confidence as you continue this journey. May you keep shining on your yoga mat and keep inspiring your community 🙏💛

A week ago, I had the great pleasure of attending the Neighbourhood and Integrated Care Summit: Putting People at the Heart of Health & Care, held at the King's Fund. The concept of Neighbourhood Health seeks to enable people to thrive within their local communities with and lessen the necessity for hospital-based care (reducing ill-health) - thereby addressing health inequalities and promoting person-centered preventative care and in their residential areas, which I have passionately advocated and actively worked for over the last 13 years. I left the summit feeling refreshed, inspired, challenged, and reminded of the reasons behind my career transition to a Health and Care role within the non-profit sector, specifically in collaboration with the NHS, since last year.

The day itself was incredibly thought-provoking and insightful. From the interactive workshops and panel discussions to case studies and keynote talks, there was a real sense of energy and enthusiasm throughout.

I particularly valued the opportunity to network and have a few 1:1 conversations with researchers, system leaders, policy makers, integrated care board members, community healthcare professionals, Directors and CEOs of the NHS and voluntary community organisations, medical consultants and GPs - Those informal discussions helped answer several questions I have been carrying about the Neighbourhood Health Framework and gave me perspectives that are difficult to gain from reports or presentations alone.

I found myself wanting to hear more open, lengthy, and deep conversations about the structural challenges around wider social, political and economic conditions. While partnership, community engagement and education are undoubtedly critical, I believe this long debated neighbourhood health model cannot be discussed in isolation from the social, political and economic context in which it is being implemented.

I came away with pages of notes, reflections and ideas - far too many to include here, and I look forward to contributing to the improvement of health outcomes and the enhancement of social value within my communities, for the benefit of everyone.

With care! x

GIVE US BREAD, BUT GIVE US ROSES, TOO

Bread and Roses 🌹

As we come marching, marching, in the beauty of the day,
A million darkened kitchens, a thousand mill-lofts gray
Are touched with all the radiance that a sudden sun discloses,
For the people hear us singing, "Bread and Roses, Bread and Roses."

As we come marching, marching, we battle, too, for men—
For they are women's children and we mother them again.
Our days shall not be sweated from birth until life closes—
Hearts starve as well as bodies: Give us Bread, but give us Roses.

As we come marching, marching, unnumbered women dead
Go crying through our singing their ancient song of Bread;
Small art and love and beauty their trudging spirits knew—
Yes, it is Bread we fight for—but we fight for Roses, too.

As we come marching, marching, we bring the Greater Days—
The rising of the women means the rising of the race.
No more the drudge and idler—ten that toil where one reposes—
But a sharing of life's glories: Bread and Roses, Bread and Roses.

🌿 Mental Health Awareness Day

Today, we pause to acknowledge every person who carries the weight of personal or collective suffering - whether seen or unseen, spoken or silent - and to champion those who take ACTION until every person receives timely, effective, and proactive compassionate Mental Health support.

To anyone facing anxiety, grief, burnout, trauma, or the quiet ache of simply trying to hold it all together: you are not alone.
Your feelings are valid. Your struggles matter. And there is strength - not shame - in reaching out for help or simply taking a moment to breathe.

Let’s continue to build a world where compassion replaces judgment, where listening replaces silence, and where support replaces stigma. 💚

If you’re struggling, please reach out to a friend, a loved one, or a professional. Help is here, and healing is possible.

💜 There’s something truly special about holding space... Not just guiding movement or breath, but creating a safe, peaceful container where people can show up exactly as they are.

💙 Whether it’s someone’s first time on the mat or their thousandth, my intention is always the same: to offer calm, to offer care, and to hold space with presence and love.

🩵 This studio isn’t just a place to practice yoga; it’s a place to exhale, to soften, to reconnect, to rebuild resilience. And every time I see someone settle into stillness, find their breath, or simply feel safe… I’m reminded of why I do this.

💚 It’s an honor to guide... It’s a joy to hold space.

💛 And it fills my heart more than I can say.

🧡 You are always very WELCOME here.

❤️ With love & care!
