I’m trying to lose fat and my breakfast is nearly 600 calories.

Because fat loss isn’t about making every meal as low calorie as physically possible.

It’s about eating within a calorie deficit while still giving your body what it needs.

This breakfast gives me 30g+ protein, plenty of fibre, carbohydrates, healthy fats, fruit and a good mix of nutrients from whole foods.

More importantly, it keeps me full for hours.

That matters.

Because if your “low calorie” breakfast leaves you starving by 10am, constantly thinking about food and picking at snacks all morning, was saving those calories actually useful?

When you’re trying to lose weight, calories matter.

But so does what you’re getting FROM those calories.

🥩 Protein
🌱 Fibre
🍓 Fruit & vegetables
🥔 Quality carbohydrates
🥑 Healthy fats
🥛 Nutrient-dense whole foods

Build meals that nourish you, satisfy you and make your calorie deficit easier to stick to.

Not meals that simply win the competition for the lowest number of calories.

Day 18/30.

Most people struggling to lose fat don’t need more information. They need fewer things to focus on and more consistency with the things that actually matter.

Fat loss can be simple. Getting results still takes work — but complicated doesn’t mean better.

Day 17/30.

81.4kg yesterday.

81.4kg again today.

And I’m changing absolutely f**k all 😂

One of the easiest mistakes to make during fat loss is assuming a few days without weight loss means your calorie deficit has stopped working.

So you immediately eat less.

Before you do that, actually look at the data.

Have you consistently hit your calorie target — including weekends?

Has your daily movement dropped?

Are you tracking the easy-to-miss calories from oils, sauces, drinks, snacks and picking at food?

Are you looking at your average weight over time rather than comparing individual weigh-ins?

Because your body weight will fluctuate regardless of whether you’re losing body fat.

Two or three flat weigh-ins isn’t enough information to start f**king around with your diet.

If your weight trend genuinely hasn’t moved for a couple of weeks, first check your consistency, calorie tracking and activity.

If those are genuinely where you think they are, THEN you’ve got useful information to decide whether something needs adjusting.

Don’t automatically eat less.

Work out what actually needs changing first.

Day 17/30.

17/09/2026

You’re probably asking exercise to do the wrong job.

There are 168 hours in a week.

Even if you strength train or exercise for 5 of them, that’s less than 3% of your week.

Yet when fat loss stalls, what do most people do?

Add another workout.
Do more cardio.
Try to burn more calories.

Instead of looking at what’s happening during the other 163 hours.

Your overall calorie intake. Your daily movement. Your food choices. Your weekends. Your sleep. Your routines.

Exercise absolutely contributes to your energy expenditure, but I wouldn’t make burning calories its main purpose.

Use your nutrition and daily habits to manage your weight.

Use exercise to build muscle, get stronger, improve your cardiovascular fitness and create a capable, resilient body.

One that you’ll still be grateful for decades from now.

Stop judging a workout by how many calories it burned.

The gym isn’t the problem. You’re just giving it the wrong job.

🍉🍓 90 CALORIE WATERMELON & STRAWBERRY SORBET

This might be one of the easiest low calorie summer desserts you can make.

No ice cream maker. No protein powder. No weird ingredients.

Just frozen fruit and a few simple ingredients to make a refreshing homemade fruit sorbet for around 90 calories per serving.

Perfect if you’re trying to lose fat, manage your calories or just want a healthier alternative when you fancy something cold and sweet.

Watermelon & Strawberry Sorbet 🍉🍓

Ingredients — 1 serving
🍉 130g frozen watermelon
🍓 130g frozen strawberries
🍯 5g honey
🍋 Juice of 1 small lemon or ½ medium lemon
🧂 Pinch of salt

Method

1. Freeze the watermelon and strawberries until completely frozen.
2. Add the frozen fruit, honey, lemon juice and salt to a food processor or high-powered blender.
3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
4. Serve immediately for a soft-serve sorbet texture.

Nutrition per serving:
🔥 90 calories
💪 2g protein
🍓 24g carbs
🥑 1g fat
🌱 3g fibre

And yes, it’s low in protein.

Not every snack needs to be turned into a “high-protein” recipe.

Sometimes fruit, a little honey and something that tastes bloody good is enough.

Save this easy watermelon strawberry sorbet recipe for the next warm day. 🍉☀️

Healthier 🌱 Happier 😊 Stronger 💪🏽

Day 15/30.

Today I genuinely don’t have much time to think about my diet.

And I think these are the days your approach to fat loss really gets tested.

Not when you’ve got an hour to cook dinner and everything goes perfectly.

When work is mental, the kids need you, you’re rushing around and cooking something elaborate is the last thing you can be arsed doing.

Eating well on busy days doesn’t need to mean meal-prepping 14 identical containers every Sunday.

Keep it simple.

🥩 Build meals around a decent protein source
🥔 Have easy carbohydrates available
🥦 Frozen or pre-prepared veg is absolutely fine
🍓 Keep fruit, Greek yoghurt and other easy whole foods around
🍚 Use things like microwave rice if they make life easier
🍲 Cook double when you DO have time and eat the leftovers

Convenience doesn’t automatically mean unhealthy.

And healthy eating doesn’t mean everything needs to be cooked from scratch.

If your fat-loss diet only works when you’ve got loads of time, it probably doesn’t fit your actual life very well.

Some days you’ll have an hour to cook.

Some days you’ll have 10 minutes.

Build a way of eating that works for both.

High protein breakfast 🍌🍫

This High Protein Banana Greek Yogurt Bowl gives you 40g of protein from simple whole food ingredients — no protein powder needed.

Warm caramelised banana with honey and cinnamon, thick Greek yogurt, crunchy walnuts and dark chocolate. Ridiculously simple, but genuinely one of those healthy breakfast ideas that doesn’t feel like you’re eating “diet food”.

Macros per bowl:
🥣 40g protein
🍌 58g carbs
🥜 14g fat

Ingredients:
• 340g 0% Greek yogurt
• 1 banana
• 21g raw honey
• 10g walnuts
• 20g dark chocolate
• Cinnamon

Slice the banana and cook it with the honey and cinnamon for a few minutes until soft and caramelised.

Spoon it over the Greek yogurt, then top with chopped walnuts and dark chocolate.

If you’re trying to lose fat, build muscle or increase your protein intake, you don’t need to live on protein shakes, bars and ultra-processed “high protein” foods.

Greek yogurt, eggs, meat, fish and other simple whole foods can make hitting your daily protein target surprisingly easy.

Save this for your next high protein breakfast 🍌
