🌊 From Dive Leader to future oceanographer! 🤿🎓

Rowan is already an experienced BSAC Dive Leader with Chorley Sub Aqua Club, but at North West Dive Fest he decided to try something new – a CCR try dive on the AP Diving Inspiration.

And he looked completely at home on a rebreather! 👌

Next month, Rowan swaps Dive Fest for university life as he heads to Plymouth University to study Oceanography. What better place for a diver with a passion for the underwater world to take that next step?

A litter-strewn beach in the Cayman Islands which is home to three turtle nests has been cleaned up, thanks to the efforts of the local BSAC club. 🚮

🌟 What a fantastic day at the North West Dive Fest! 🌟

As today’s event draws to a close, a huge thank you and congratulations to North West Regional Coach Stephen Dorricot, his extensive team of dedicated volunteers and all the event sponsors who made the day possible. 👏

From organising the event to running activities throughout the day, an enormous amount of volunteer time and effort went into bringing the North West diving community together – while also raising money for the North West Air Ambulance Charity. 🚁💙

The day finished in style with the raffle, auction and some very special awards and presentations:

🎉 Westhoughton SAC celebrated 25 years as a BSAC club
🎉 Ormskirk SAC and Alsager SAC both celebrated an incredible 50 years
👏 Mark Lamb from Southport SAC received his Advanced Instructor award
🏆 And Colin Mills from Hartford SAC was recognised for an outstanding 40 years of volunteer instructing with BSAC

A brilliant celebration of diving, clubs, volunteering and the people who give their time to make our sport happen.

Thank you to Stephen, the whole North West team, sponsors, volunteers, clubs, divers and everyone who came along and supported the event. What a day! 🤿💙

🎉🤿 Congratulations Harrison — Ocean Diver complete!

What a way to finish your training! Harrison has completed his BSAC Ocean Diver qualification today at North West Dive Fest, training with Scoobs and the Diverstime scuba diving centre team. 💙🙌

Now the adventures really begin! 🌊 We can’t wait to see where Harrison’s BSAC diving takes him next.

Well done Harrison — and a big shout-out to Scoobs and BSAC Centre Diverstime for helping another diver take that next step.

🤿 Even the BSAC Chair is trying something new at Dive Fest!

BSAC Chair Andy Shenstone swapped onto a rebreather today for a CCR Try Dive on the AP Diving Inspiration at North West Dive Fest.

Keith led Andy’s first CCR experience underwater, with John, Maria and Adrian providing the all-important surface support. 🙌

A great example of what Dive Fest is all about — having a go, learning from experienced BSAC volunteers and discovering where your diving could take you next.

Will we see Andy joining the silent diving world next…? 👀
