DON’T WORK OUT ALONE 🖤

There’s something different about training with a room full of people who are all there for the same reason.

The music’s louder.
You push that little bit harder.
You laugh, sweat, struggle… and somehow keep going 😂🔥

Come for the workout. Stay for the people.

This is what HR Elite is all about 🫶🏼

I love this member, shes an absolute delight, she joined after I was recommended and for someone who was heavily into her fitness and running I had no idea if we could do much more, turns out though we absolutely could. Karen is one of those incredible clients that just does it, she commits, gives it her best efforts and she at 60 plus she is one of my fittest members.

4 foods to limit when trying to lose weight ...
Full sugar fizzy drinks
fancy coffees with syrups and extras

Pastries and baked treats
doughnuts, croissants and cakes, they contain a lot of calories for a small quantity of food

Take aways and heavily oiled food
the more oils and sauces are often more calorie dense

Everything in moderation
but if your go to is a take away once a week followed by a doughnut and a can of full fat coke, switching these to a fake away, diet options and a fruit salad instead can save you loads of calories over the course of the week.

MENOPAUSE TIP 💗
DON’T JUST walk — KEEP exercising TOO!

During perimenopause and menopause, staying active becomes more important than ever.

As oestrogen levels change, we can start to lose muscle mass and bone strength, while changes around our middle, energy levels, sleep and mood can make keeping active feel harder.

This is why I always encourage WORKOUTS + DAILY STEPS

🏋️‍♀️ Strength training
Helps maintain muscle, strength and bone health. Aim to include resistance work such as weights, bands or bodyweight exercises regularly. Think those Wednesday toning classes we do, sessions like biceps : triceps / just legs , circuits etc your online covers it all

👟 Daily steps
Your workout might only be 30–45 minutes of your day. Walking and keeping your steps up helps keep you active during all those hours outside of your workout.

❤️ Cardiovascular exercise
dancing, cycling, classes or anything that gets your heart rate up is great for your cardiovascular fitness, try to do different types of training rather than just aerobic training as this is really affected for the heart. So things like Boxing where we have two minutes on and then two minutes rest. Things like classes we do Monday second class !

🦴 Think about your bones
Walking, dancing and other weight-bearing activities alongside resistance training are particularly important as we get older. This is especially important for people who are on GLP 1. It’s more essential than ever for you to exercise and keep the muscle mass, failure to do this can result in many problems in later life

😴 Listen to your body
Menopause can affect sleep, recovery and energy. You don’t have to smash yourself every single day. Some days a workout will feel great; other days a good walk and even 2/3 finishers might be enough !

The big message: DON’T CHOOSE BETWEEN STEPS OR EXERCISE.

Think of them as a team.

🏋️‍♀️ Exercise builds and protects your strength.
👟 Steps keep you moving throughout the day.
❤️ Consistency with both supports your long-term health.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need to train for hours.
You just need to keep moving, keep building strength and keep showing up for yourself. 💗

Menopause isn’t the time to stop — it’s the time to start looking after the body you want to carry you through the next chapter.

I just want to say how impressed I am by this lovely client… her update made me smile so much… “I wish I had found you 16 years ago, you have honestly changed my life and I finally feel happy” you can’t get better than that.
