ASH Handtied Flies

Been trying to get to grips tying no body flies on Frodin Tungsten Tubes but these prototypes are heading to the Ewe for a swim. Two larger and one smaller. Sillen and my version of a Vaehaeneva.

A batch of Avatar doubles and some cone heads, along with a dozen simple Sunrays varying between 3 & 5 inches heading to Devon but then heading north to fish the River Ewe later this season. Partridge Patriots sizes 6-10

Well after a few months hard work the stock boxes are fullish. Too many patterns to list. All tied on Partridge Patriots or down eyed doubles ranging for most patterns from sizes 6-12, Crathes tied on sizes 10-16. No idea how many in total. Will have the trays at the River Spey Anglers Association Flytying Day at Inchberry Hall if you need to top your boxes up or PM me from this post if you need anything.

Found this pattern in Chris Mann’s book of salmon flies and pretty apt for my location. It’s called the Spey Ghillie. A variation or combination of the Willie Gunn and a Jeannie.
