Where is everyone tonight? Probably best night of the year for shooting, warm and just a little breeze.

Absolutely furious with this as it puts the archery club into another phase of uncertainty and possible closure.
Here is hoping Scottish government quickly process the appeal and throws it out.

LEITHS HAVE LODGED AN APPEAL
On a weekend when we should all be coming together and enjoying the world cup and with only 8 days to go till the deadline for appeals – Leiths have dropped a bombshell and snuck in an appeal on the Birnie Quarry and Concrete Works Planning application

Despite the proposal being recommended for rejection by the Moray Council Planning Officer Report on very sound planning grounds

Despite the proposal being overwhelming rejected by Councillors on the Planning Committee

Despite over 800 individual objections and two community councils objecting to the proposal

Despite over 2 years of stress and worry for a community which was just 8 days away from it all coming to an end

Despite Leiths recently being awarded planning permission for a new sand and gravel quarry at Potterton in Aberdeenshire

This company has dropped a bombshell and lodged an appeal with the Scottish Government- showing just how much they respect the views of the community, the decisions of our democratically elected representatives and the policy that protects our green spaces
So dust off your signs and sharpen your pens – because here we go again.

Not something we see often at the archery Range a very distinct double rainbow.
Most of archers are hiding under the shelter from the rain taking it all in.

Notice the bright primary rainbow and the secondary outer rainbow which has the colours the other way round. And in between is the dark Alexander’s belt.

A big thank you to all the members who helped out at Scottish archery’s inter area competition, which we hosted at the weekend.
The field party.
Those who contributed to the Raffle.
Photographers.
And of course the kitchen party keeping. everyone fed over the two days.

This was the biggest competition that Moray Archery have ever hosted to date with around 80 people in attendance.
I think we showcased our club and what we can do to some of the best archers in Scotland.
Hopefully they will have enjoyed themselves and come up north again to shoot with us.

Praise has to also be given to the following people as without them the event would not have take place.
Fiona & Curtis Hirst and Malcolm Alexander for running the event.
All of the Judges
And the area team managers.

And Congratulations to the eastern archery team who won the event by 0.1 of a point.

More photos of the event to follow.

This weekend coming the 30th-31st of May.
We are going to be hosting the Scottish Archery inter area competition at our range.
At this competition the 3 Scottish areas will compete against each other. There will be over 60 archers taking part.

Due to this the club will only be running on Wednesday night this week, as we will need to set up for the competition.

On the Thursday evening it would be good to get a few helpers to prepare the field.

We are looking for helpers for the following
during the competition.

Field party team (all round helpers)
Photographer
Kitchen team
Tournament organiser helper.

If you can help out please let us know what days you are available and which jobs you fancy doing.

If you can’t make it there are other ways you can help:

If you have any items you could donate to the raffle these would be greatly appreciated.

We are also looking for a few home bakes for afternoon teas and coffee on both days.

Our members are welcome to come along through the day and see a large competition in action.
