LYAMC are bringing the 1920s to life with their production of Bugsy Malone at the Churchill Theatre this week.
Expect show-stopping dance numbers, classic songs, and a lot of flying custard pies.

✨YOUTH COMPANY AUDITIONS✨
We are looking for talented young dancers to support our professional pantomime cast in Dick McWhittington at Portobello Town Hall! 🧡
Performances take place between Friday 4th - Sunday 27th December 2026, including daytime performances at 10am.
We are looking for a total of 48 dancers (six groups of eight) aged 8-14 from across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Each group will get approximately 2-3 performances per week, which will limit the amount of time needed off school.
AUDITION DETAILS:
🗓️ Wednesday 9th September & Thursday 10th September 2026
⏰ Junior Auditions: 5pm - 6:30pm | Senior Auditions: 7pm - 8:30pm
📍 Portobello Town Hall
We encourage applicants from all backgrounds and of any gender to apply. Applicants must be competent in dance; be hard working; have the ability to learn routines quickly; work well within a team; and have a positive attitude!
Before applying, you must seek confirmation from the relevant school teacher(s) that the applicant will be permitted to have time off school for rehearsals and performances.

✨ WOW — what a backdrop! ✨
Around 30 incredible dancers took to the stage as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, performing at the Mound Precinct in the heart of Edinburgh today! 💃🕺
You danced brilliantly and absolutely brought so much energy to the show.🌟 What a special experience and a moment you’ll remember for years to come.
Parents and teachers couldn’t be prouder of every single one of you. ❤️

We’re thrilled to announce that Cameron Flynn will be leading two fantastic “Be a Backing Dancer” workshops at our dance studio on Sunday 8th November! 💃🕺
And that’s not all… Bethany Kingsley-Garner will also be joining us on the 8th for two magical ballet workshops! 🩰✨
It’s going to be an incredible day of dance, inspiration and fun!

A huge thank you to Creation in the Park for inviting us to dance at their fundraising event earlier today at Spylaw Park. 💜
Today perfectly captured the ethos of our dance school — community, connection, friendship and, above all, the sheer joy of dance. It was wonderful to come together, share our passion and be part of such a special event.
A huge well done to all of our dancers, who performed beautifully and represented the school so wonderfully! ✨
We’d also like to thank Colinton Village Hub for having us and for bringing the community together for such a fantastic cause. 💜
