Waiting List Update
Dear Parent/Carer,
We hope you are well.
A limited number of spaces have recently become available at Soccerstarts Football Academy. We are therefore pleased to offer two-week trials in selected classes to families currently on our waiting lists.
The two-week trials will take place on:
* Saturday 5 and 12 September – Musselburgh Sports Centre
* Sunday 6 and 13 September – Edinburgh College, Sighthill
Current trial availability
Musselburgh Sports Centre – Saturdays
* 9:00–9:45am – Walking to 3 Years (Parent & Child)
* 9:45–10:25am – Walking to 3 Years (Parent & Child)
* 10:40–11:10am – 3–5 Years
* 11:15–11:55am – 3–5 Years
* 12:55–1:45pm – 5.5–7.5 Years
The Saturday 12:00–12:50pm 4–6 Years class remains full and continues to operate with a waiting list.
Edinburgh College, Sighthill – Sundays
* 12:10–1:00pm – 5.5–7.5 Years
* 1:05–2:05pm – 7–9 Years
All other Sighthill classes currently remain full and continue to operate with waiting lists.
Our Walking to 3 Years and 3–5 Years classes focus on developing movement skills, balance, coordination, confidence and ball mastery through fun and engaging activities. Small-sided football games are not included within these age groups, as they are not appropriate for children at this stage of their development.
From our 4–6 Years class onwards, children begin to experience age-appropriate small-sided games alongside their continued technical development. This helps them develop confidence, decision-making and a lifelong love of football.

Places are limited, so we may not be able to offer every family a trial on this occasion. If you are unable to secure a place, you will automatically remain on our waiting list and we will contact you when another suitable space becomes available.

⚽ The Soccerstarts Player Development Pathway
At Soccerstarts Football Academy, every stage of our programme has been carefully designed to support your child’s development at the right time.
Our pathway allows children to build confidence, master fundamental skills and develop a lifelong love of football in a fun, positive and supportive environment.
👶 Walking to 3 Years
A fun introduction to movement and football with parents or carers joining in every step of the journey, helping little ones build confidence, coordination and a love of being active.
⚽ 2½–3½ Years
Parent and child sessions continue to develop confidence, balance, coordination and ball mastery through exciting, age-appropriate games and activities.
🌟 3–5 Years
Children begin taking their first steps towards greater independence while continuing to build confidence and excellent ball mastery through engaging football activities. At this stage we focus on developing strong foundations before introducing small-sided games.
🏃 4–6 Years
Children build on their football foundations with the introduction of age-appropriate small-sided games, helping develop confidence, teamwork, decision-making and game understanding.
🔥 5½–7½ Years
Players continue progressing through progressive coaching and regular small-sided games, developing technical ability, creativity and confidence while enjoying every session.
💙 7–9 Years
Our oldest players continue to develop their technical skills, tactical awareness and game intelligence through challenging but enjoyable coaching designed to prepare them for the next stage of their football journey.
