🚨 Vacancy – Pathway Coordinator 🚨

Scottish Target Shooting (STS) is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Pathway Coordinator to play a key role in delivering our expanding Performance Pathway.

📍 Home-based (with travel across Scotland as required)
💷 £14,000 per year (£28,000 FTE) + expenses
🕒 3 days per week (18.75 hours)
📅 Start date: 1 October 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter)

This exciting new role, supported by sportscotland Pathway Investment, will coordinate the STS Development Programme and help athletes progress from club and development environments into our Performance Programme.

Adult Wellbeing and Protection in Sport Course

We are delighted to be offering an Adult Wellbeing and Protection in Sport (AWPS) course for our affiliated clubs and members.

Course Details

• Date: Tuesday, 3 November 2026
• Time: 6.00pm – 9.00pm
• Format: Tutor Led Online Course

The Adult Wellbeing and Protection in Sport (AWPS) course is a new training programme developed by sportscotland. It provides the knowledge and skills needed to recognise, respond to and manage adult wellbeing and safeguarding concerns within Scottish sports clubs and organisations.

While safeguarding training has traditionally focused on children and young people, this course places the spotlight on protecting adults (aged 18 and over), helping clubs create safer, more inclusive environments for all participants.

2026 Imperial Meeting - Match Reports

Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland competed for ‘The National Challenge Trophy’ on Thursday 23rd July, during the Imperial Meeting at the Bisley National Shooting Centre. Teams of 20 firers, main coach & 5 target coaches, 5 plotters, adjutant and captain, The National is the combined score over three distances, 300x, 500x and 600x, with a maximum score of 2100pts and 420 vs.

2026 TR Imperial Meeting - Scottish Individual Results Report

The 157th Target Rifle Imperial Meeting was held at the National Shooting Centre, Bisley, from Friday 17 July to Saturday 25 July 2026. It remains the premier annual Target Rifle meeting in the United Kingdom, bringing together leading competitors from Britain and overseas for a demanding programme of individual, aggregate and team competitions.

This year, the weather played its part, with warm conditions at the beginning of the period giving way to cooler, cloudier conditions and initially difficult winds. More unusually, ammunition became a major technical consideration. The NRA's pre-meeting testing identified a temperature-related deterioration in the performance of the new GGG 2026 155-grain ammunition, particularly at long range, and this led to a deliberate decision to use the previous GGG .308 lot for the team matches and long-range competitions and significant individual shoots.

Within the Scotland squad, the 2026 Imperial was a test of consistency with the Grand Aggregate running over 5 days. But before we could all start with the TR Imperial meeting, this year was the first year of the Youth Imperial which culminated in a National Under 19’s match, with the Scottish Under 19’s team winning for the fist time in 17 years.

2026 Scottish Gallery Rifle Championships Results and Report

Firstly, thank you to all of the ROs, range crew, Alan on the BBQ, and all competitors for helping to make this year's competition enjoyable for everyone. It was fantastic to see several newcomers taking part, and we recorded 235 scorecards, an increase of 37 from last year, showing that the competition continues to grow year after year.

Scottish Target Shooting has published a new draft Pathway Framework for consultation, proposing a clearer, connected whole-sport structure across participation, development and performance.

The Framework is not intended to be a compulsory ladder. People may enter at different points, follow different routes, move between disciplines, pause and return, or remain involved without pursuing formal performance progression.

We now want to hear from participants, athletes, parents, coaches, clubs, volunteers, officials and anyone else with experience of or an interest in Scottish target shooting.

💻 Online consultation session: 15th September 2026 at 7.30pm

Alongside the consultation, STS is also recruiting a new Pathway Coordinator to help establish and coordinate the Development Programme and strengthen connections across the wider Pathway.
