Weekly recap 07.

A great week balancing family, coaching and training.

Nicole and I celebrated 4 years married with lunch in town and a Fringe show followed by plenty of quality time with Logan.

Inside Optimal Performance Training, we onboarded a new athlete and finalised race prep for another athlete's triathlon.

On top of that, I kept my own track work and strength sessions locked in.

Everything's mapped out and ready to go again for another big week.

Every block you delay is another season stuck in the same injury cycle.

You already know what you want out of your training

A new PB, crossing the finish line in control instead of surviving and a full training block free from niggles.

Effort isn't your issue. You've got plenty of that.

What’s missing is a plan built specifically around your recovery, schedule and individuality.

DM ENGINE and let’s build a proper block together.

Nobody at the start line is looking at your past race times.

Every athlete standing next to you has dealt with a plateau, a ruined training block or an injury that set them back.

The difference between where you are today and where you want to be isn't a gap in your work ethic.

It's a gap in your system.

When your weekly workload, pacing and recovery are managed for you, that gap closes much faster than you think.

DM ENGINE and you won’t have to close that gap alone.

Starting a coaching block shouldn't feel like a mystery.

Here's exactly what phase 1 looks like when you join.

Weeks 1-2: We test your movement and set your baseline targets. Zero assumptions.

Weeks 3-4: We integrate targeted strength work to clean up ongoing niggles and build durability.

By the end of phase one, every piece of guesswork is gone.

You move forward knowing exactly what your body can handle and how to build on it.

DM ENGINE and I’ll map out your starting phase.

4 years married to my best friend and the best mum.

The reason I can work as hard as I do at building Optimal Performance Training is because of you.

Logan and I appreciate everything you do for us every single day.

Couldn't do any of this without you.

Happy anniversary ♥️

Race day confidence isn't something that just happens.

It's built in your training.

Hoping for a good day on the start line leads to panic.

Trust in your ability comes from proof stacked week after week.

Hitting your pacing targets, not guessing.

Finishing tough weeks without blowing up.

Training week in, week out completely pain free.

When you show up to race day with months of proof behind you, confidence is just a natural side effect.

DM ENGINE and let’s start stacking your proof points.

A numb foot and limping used to cut Andi’s runs short at the 25 minute mark.

When injuries like this hit, most athletes panic.

They stop running completely and just hope the pain disappears with rest.

We didn’t do that.

Complete rest would have just delayed the problem.

Instead, we pulled her running volume back to a manageable level and layered in targeted rehab work to actually fix the weak link.

Fast forward to a couple of weekends ago and she just crossed the Scottish 10K finish line 100% pain free.

We go again in 6 weeks when she lines up for her half marathon.

Hard work alone was never the missing piece.

Every single week, athletes train their hearts out, do everything right on paper and still crash on race day.

Why?

Because nobody's managing the fatigue building up underneath the sessions.

The Optimal Performance Race System was built from watching hard working athletes hit preventable walls.

When you trade random hard sessions for a structured, well managed plan, race day stops being a gamble.

DM ENGINE to see how this system applies to your training.

You don’t need a total overhaul to see a massive shift in your performance.

Most Hyrox athletes are already putting in the work.

You’re hitting the gym, getting the miles in and pushing hard.

The reason you're hitting a wall isn't a lack of effort.

It's that your sessions are fighting each other instead of working together.

Real progress comes down to balancing your hard efforts with recovery.

When your weekly workload is managed properly, you get to keep pushing hard without constant burnout or niggles interrupting your training.

DM ENGINE and I’ll show you how simple these adjustments are.

When training's structured properly, race day doesn't feel like survival.

When Elizabeth first came to Optimal Performance Training, she feared burpee broad jumps and running holding up under fatigue.

Fast forward to Braw Fitness Games:

âś… Burpees paced with zero gasping for air.
âś… She was able to recover on the runs between stations.
âś… Massive improvements on compromised lunges.

No guessing. Just specific aerobic development and targeted strength work.

Proud of the work here.

Onto the next one.
