CHANGES TO SCOTLAND’S 900 QUALIFIER!

2 Weeks to go until Scotland’s two qualifying events for the Snooker 900.

The entry fee has now been reduced to £30 and players will no longer be required to purchase playing shirts, but competitors must join and become a member at www.snooker900.tv/join for only £1.47.

Having reduced the entry fee, this also means that the prize money has been reduced considerably. Therefore, as long as an event is full with 16 players, the prize money will now be as follows:

Winner: £150
Runner-Up: £90
Semi-Finalists: £40

Both events will start at 4pm and will be capped to just 16 players. All matches will be best of 3 with a blue-ball deadlock should a match go 1-1. All matches will have a referee and a marker and the events may possibly be streamed.

An order of merit will be in use for both events. Players will earn a point for every frame won and for every deadlock decider won. The player who finishes #1 after both events will receive a free place in the 900 event taking place in Reading at The Crucible Sports & Social Club on 12-14 October, where they will be in with a chance to win up to £3,000. This event will broadcast globally on Pluto TV.

All matches will be played under the 900 rules and format. These include:
15 minute frames (900 seconds)
20 second shot clock in operation
If a ball isn't potted in a stroke, then any ball MUST hit a cushion or else it's a foul.
Any foul gives the opponent ball in hand, which means they are free to place the cue-ball anywhere on the table for their next shot.
If the points in the frame are level after 15 minutes, a blue-ball deadlock will decide the frame.

World Abilitysport Guttmann Games.

Congratulations to William Thomson one of our 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 snooker players who is representing 🇬🇧Great Britain in the World Abilitysport Guttmann Games.

He has played really well and we hope is enjoying this experience.
He is now through to the Gold medal match tomorrow morning 8am UK time. Whatever happens He will be guaranteed a medal as a 🇬🇧 Great Britain Athlete. 🇬🇧

Billiards Teams A and B
HIBSF 2026

Our Billiards Teams were next to play yesterday and today at the HIBSF in Leeds.

Teams were
Team A:
Alan Shepherd (c), Martin Miller, Josh Mclachlan.
Team B:
Mark Lennox (c), Arthur Mohammed, Charlie Kane and Mhairi Mackay.

Team B had a great start winning their first 2 games yesterday.
After completing all group games Team B went through to the Challenge Cup Quarter finals but lost out to England B.

Just wanted to mention James McLaughlin. James is always willing to help out when he can and I am delighted he agreed to be Head Referee for the HIBSF events 2026.

Under 21's Team Winners
🏆🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿HIBSF 2026🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏆🎉

A fantastic performance from our Under 21 team throughout the event culminating in the Final today of this Championship in the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds today.

The players were focused and determined to make history today being the first team of 4 siblings to win this event.

All the players showed real class and respect on and off the table at the event.

Women's Team Event
HIBSF 2026

Fantastic effort and determination shown from Scotland Team A today in the Championship Final.

After all 6 frames it was tied at 3-3. Captain Natasha Kent put herself up for the final frame shoot out but unfortunately it was not to be. Still a great effort and we are all very proud of them.

A great few days spent with both of the womens teams.

Congratulations also to Gillian Hayes who was named Player of the Tournament for the Womens Event.
