Captain Bobby Parker opened the scoring, Jimmy Wardhaugh added two, Willie Bauld scored twice, and Jimmy Whittle rounded it off to make it six.

Hearts Museum turns 10 this September, and we want to celebrate with all of you. 🎉

Whether you’re at the game or not, come down to the plaza — meet the team and volunteers, and hear about the work we do to preserve Hearts’ history for generations to come. We’ll be around the stadium collecting donations too, so come say hi and help us keep the story going!

📅 ON THIS DAY — 12 August 1893

Hearts recorded our biggest ever score in an Edinburgh Derby — a staggering 10-2 win over Hibs, away at Easter Road! ⚽️🔥

It came in a friendly marking Hibs' return to action, but a scoreline like that still stands as the most one-sided derby result in the club's history, 130+ years on.

On the scoresheet that day: David Baird ⚡ and Johnny Walker ⚡ both bagged hat-tricks, Willie Taylor added a brace, and George Hogg and Isaac Bebie completed the rout.

Can you imagine being at Easter Road for that one? 😅

🇵🇹⚓ From the archive: a gift from Benfica, 1960

Tonight, Hearts face S.L. Benfica again — our first meeting since 5 October 1960, when we lost 3-0 in Lisbon. Not the result we wanted, but we came home with something rather special: this exquisite silver filigree caravel, gifted by Benfica to mark the occasion.

Every scroll, spiral, and rope-twist edge on this piece is hand-formed from twisted silver wire — Portuguese filigrana work at its finest, and honestly one of the most breathtaking pieces of craftsmanship in our whole collection. Even the little red-and-white crosses on the sails have a story — that's the Cross of the Order of Christ, tied to Portugal's Age of Discoveries.

We didn't get the result back in 1960. Tonight, we're back to try and upset the odds again 👊 Come on Hearts!

Hearts Heritage have once again teamed up with Two Halves Productions, to host a fictional Fringe show, exploring what it is to be a football fan!

Two connected stories focussing on last season: Hearts’ closest title challenge in 40 years. Performed inside Tynecastle Park’s 1874 Supporters Bar, this site-specific double bill turns the real bar into each play’s world.

At an open-mic night, '𝑀𝑜𝓋𝑒𝒹' follows a supporter whose public hope collides with private angst: is football holding him together or tearing him apart?

In '𝒮𝑒𝒶𝓈𝑜𝓃 𝒾𝓃 𝐵𝓁𝑜𝑜𝓂', a Gorgie pub’s staff, regulars and visitors navigate the same hope, grief and gallows humour. Heartbreaking, funny and deeply human: it isn’t about football. It’s about what football does to people.

This Friday, as part of our celebrations for 140 years of Tynecastle Park, we welcome Rayo Vallecano to Gorgie — and as far as we can find, this will be the first time in over 100 years of history that Los Franjirrojos have faced a Scottish club.

Founded in 1924, Rayo are the pride of Vallecas, a historic working-class district of Madrid. Their famous red sash, and the story of resilience and community behind it, isn't so different from what Tynecastle means to us here in Gorgie.

It's also worth remembering 1976 was a big year for both clubs: Rayo secured their first-ever promotion to Spain's top flight, while at Tynecastle, Hearts beat Lokomotiv Leipzig 5-1 on the night (5-3 on aggregate) — a result still talked about by supporters who were there.

And there's extra reason to be cheering on Spanish football this weekend — La Roja take on Argentina in the World Cup final this Sunday, and everyone at Hearts Heritage will be right behind them. 🏆🇪🇸
