It's all in the name of research
Andrew Hodge Personal Training
I'm on a mission to help people find confidence in the gym, and happiness in their physical ability.
Training might not always be easy, but it should never be complicated!
It would be great if I could get back to running immediately though.

What an awesome day that was!
First ever official half marathon ticked off yesterday.
The training block for this one has been one of the best I can remember - it's such a brilliant feeling to cross the line and see the product of weeks of hard work.
Well done to everyone else who took part yesterday.
Now time to take the new speed into a Hyrox block ๐
I was scrolling through the camera roll and came upon this photo and it got me thinking about the power of movement and the moments it can create.
My family was in the middle of a pretty bleak time when this photo was taken - but I'm so glad it exists because it was a very special moment.
By literally putting one foot in front of the other a few times we did something pretty cool.
Running genuinely gave me a bit of an emotional outlet during training, it raised an awesome amount of money for charity, and it made my dad proud.
It's a reasonably extreme example - but an example nonetheless on how movement can create moments that transcend looking a bit better.
This was a highlight moment - but every great session, every PB, every finish line crossed sparks something pretty cool ๐

It's race week ๐
This Sunday will be the first time in over a year I've laced up for an official run at the Scottish Half Marathon and I'm buzzing.
I decided this year to cap the event distance to a humble 21.1km - mostly because the last marathon that I trained for seemed to sap a lot of the fun out of running for me.
By training for a half, I've been able to take the focus away from just building loads of easy volume and inject a bit more intensity into my sessions.
As tough as those sessions can be - I actually find them more enjoyable.
If you can't find a way to make your training somewhat enjoyable it is a hell of a lot harder to stick to.
This last few months of training has felt great and I'm excited to see what result I can get on Sunday.
