Bowls Scotland District 15

Well that’s it, after 8 days I’m signing off from the National Championships.

It has been epic!!!

It’s been a privilege to try and support all the bowlers from District 15 and District 14.
I have to be honest and say there were plenty words of encouragement for our neighbouring districts as well.

On the last day of action, there was more medals making there way back to Edinburgh between gents and Para bowlers.

At the bronze medal presentation, Keith Smith from Bainfield and the Carrick Knowe pair of Graham Pringle and James Hogg were given their awards for all their effort.

I’m sorry to say that I had to leave before the other para participants had taken to the green to play their finals. Fingers crossed more success came back to the capital.

Unfortunately after a flying start which gave them a great lead the guys were pegged back and crossed.
4 down playing the last, they were lying peels with 2 bowls to come and their skip got a maximum result.

You have done your club, the district and Edinburgh proud.

It was triple disappointment for Edinburgh this morning with defeats for Kevin, Gillian and Corstorphine.

It’s a 12:30 start for our last 3 capital contenders in the quarter finals.

Carrick Knowe in the Pairs, Parkside in the Triples and Brunstane in the Fours.

Best of luck gentlemen. One more win to guarantee a medal 🥉🥈🥇
