10th October FREE THE ALCHEMY OF BREATH link in bio and www.artandspirituality.co.uk
All modern breathwork is derived from the wisdom of ancient yogic practices, especially of Pranayama.
In breathwork, the anatomical biological functioning is understood in how to convert the nervous system in to rest and relax, thereby inviting the mind to settle and the emotions to harmonise.
Ta***ic breathing techniques, not only understood these benefits, but also the understood the implications for increasing vital life force and expanding our conscious awareness.
The breath is the vehicle for moving and increasing “Prana” through our being. Prana, chi, ki is our vital life force energy and is found in all living organisms, in the air we breath, the food we eat, the water we drink, the ground we stand on.
Understanding Prana means we can increase vitality, heal the mind and body, develop our consciousness, tap into specific energetic resonances, evolve a state of peace and confidence and a whole load of incredible gifts.
In this class we will work specifically to create these energetic benefits through a number of techniques including somatic and mindful breath, confidence activating breath, yogic Maha pranayama, womb healing breathing and heart mind connect breath meditation.
Each a simple tool that you can take home and work with understanding and experiencing benefits with in your being. Connecting you back into a balanced feminine energy of inner strength, peacefulness, confidence and self knowing.
As a student and Practioner of ancient Ta***ic yoga of 15 years, it is my heartfelt pleasure to share these beautiful techniques with you. Mel Harris

11th October FREE COOKING VEGAN PAELLA link in bio and www.artandspirituality.co.uk
Join us for a free, hands-on cooking workshop where we make one big, vibrant pan of vegan paella together, no experience needed, no cost to attend.

This session is part of our Cook Well, Spend Less programme, helping people in Gorgie-Dalry eat well on a tight budget. Paella is naturally a budget-friendly, communal dish, built from simple pantry staples like rice, beans, and whatever vegetables are in season and we'll cook it the traditional way: as a team, chopping, stirring, seasoning, and simmering side by side.

You'll take home practical skills: how to stretch affordable ingredients into a meal that feeds many, how to build big flavour without expensive extras, and how to turn one pot into leftovers for the days ahead. And you'll take home food too, everyone leaves with a portion of what we've cooked, plus the shared recipe to make it again at home.

But the real ingredient here is connection. There's something about chopping, stirring, and tasting together that turns strangers into friends by the time the pan is empty. Whether you've never cooked from scratch before or you've been cooking for years, there's a place for you at this table.

Bring your curiosity and an open mind . Let's cook something good together.

This class is sponsored by One City Trust and run by Gloria, chef from Madebyflour

18th October FREE JAPANESE ORIGAMI- bookings www.artandspirituality.co.uk
in this hands-on workshop, you will learn the timeless Japanese art of origami through the making of paper cranes, traditional symbols of hope, healing, and peace. Step by step, we'll fold a flock of cranes together, then thread and balance them into a beautiful hanging mobile to take home.

No experience needed, just patience, curiosity, and hands ready to create. Along the way, we'll explore the meaning behind the crane in Japanese culture and the quiet, meditative quality of folding paper with intention.

29th October FREE CREATE AND TASTE-EDIBLE ART WORKSHOP- Bookings www.artandspirituality.co.uk
In this gentle and creative workshop, we invite you to slow down, connect with yourself and explore colour, texture and flavour through the playful world of edible art.

You’ll begin with a blank cake canvas and a painter’s palette of colourful buttercreams. From there, the journey is entirely your own. There is no design to copy, no perfect result to achieve and no right or wrong way to create. Simply choose the colours you are drawn to and allow your hands, imagination and intuition to guide you.

As your blank canvas slowly transforms, you’ll have space to experiment, play and express something of yourself through colour and movement, perhaps creating something recognisable, perhaps something completely abstract.

More than cake decorating, this is an invitation to pause, create and reconnect, enjoying the simple wellbeing that can come from making something with your hands and being present in the moment.

At the end, you’ll take home a completely unique piece of edible art, a little reflection of your own creative journey, made to be enjoyed with every sense.

No artistic or cake-decorating experience is needed. Just come as you are and see where your blank canvas takes you.

New FREE cooking and art class on 22nd October - bookings on www.artandspirituality.co.uk
Come and get creative with food and art! This is a hands-on afternoon where cooking and craft meet, no experience needed, just curiosity and an appetite to play.
You'll start , experimenting with colour, texture and flavour as you layer up your own salad jar, or turn seasonal veg into a vibrant autumn-inspired fridge pickle. It's a simple technique you can take home and repeat all season, but here, it's also a chance to slow down, notice how ingredients look and feel, and enjoy the process rather than rushing to the result.
Once your jar is filled, we'll shift gears into some mindful collage. Using paper, colour and texture, you'll design and decorate a piece of artwork that makes your jar completely your own, part recipe, part self-portrait, part little piece of autumn you get to take home with you.
Expect good company, gentle creativity, and the quiet satisfaction of making something, to eat and to look at, with your own hands. The class is run by Gillian from our charity partner Garvald Edinburgh
