KASIA is WALKING FOR AXÉ BOOM BOOM! 🥾❤️
She’s taking part in the Kiltwalk to raise money to support the community work of Axé Boom Boom.
But this walk isn’t just about getting her steps in…
It’s about helping families who are experiencing financial difficulties access activities that might otherwise be too expensive for them.
At Axé Boom Boom, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to:

Through our projects, we use Capoeira, Djembe drumming, Samba and other Afro-Brazilian and West African cultural arts to create opportunities for children, young people and families.
We want to help remove financial barriers by offering free or supported places where we can.
Because a child shouldn’t miss out on an activity they love simply because their family is struggling financially.
And sometimes the impact goes much further than the class itself.
A child discovers that they’re stronger than they thought.
A teenager finds a community where they feel accepted.
A family finds an activity they can enjoy together.
Someone who never thought they were “sporty” discovers a love of movement.
That’s why Kasia’s walking. ❤️

What a night! 🥁🔥
Our djembe class was almost a full house yesterday and the energy was absolutely incredible!
You could feel the buzz in the room from the moment everyone picked up their drums.
And then the rhythm started...
One beat became another.
One person found the rhythm.
Then another joined.
And suddenly we were no longer a room full of individuals, we were one group making music together. ❤️
That is one of the things we love most about drumming.
It isn’t just about learning how to play a djembe.
It’s about listening.
It’s about concentration.
It’s about coordination.
It’s about creativity.
It’s about connecting with other people.
And sometimes, it’s simply about having an hour where you can forget about everything else and enjoy yourself.
One of our participants said:
“What a great class, that’s what I needed!”
YES! 🙌
We hear this kind of feedback so often because there is something incredibly refreshing about making music with other people.
You don’t need to be an experienced drummer.
You don’t need to be “musical”.
You don’t need to get every rhythm right.
You just need to be willing to listen, try, make mistakes and have fun.
And Grześ .tucum.capoeira definitely brought the Axé last night! 🔥🥁

DJEMBOREE 2026… WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!! 🥁🔥❤️
Fantastic.
Incredible.
Amazing.
Unforgettable.
Honestly… there are not enough words to describe the energy!
The moment everyone started drumming together, you could feel the energy right through you. 🥁🔥
For Grześ and Kasia, this weekend was also so much more than an amazing drumming experience.
It was a really valuable part of our personal and professional development.
As musicians and teachers, we believe that learning should never stop.
We love teaching, but we also love being students.
Learning new rhythms.
Being challenged.
Trying something unfamiliar.
Making mistakes.
Listening to experienced teachers.
Practising.
Improving.
All of these experiences help us grow, both personally and professionally, and ultimately make us better teachers for our own students.
And this time we had an amazing student Simon with us!🥁
It was so lovely to have one of our students there with us, sharing the experience, learning alongside us and being part of this amazing community.
This is what we love about music.
You can come together as teachers, students, beginners and experienced musicians, and everyone has something to learn and something to contribute.

What a vibe! ❤️

Our beginners were absolutely ON FIRE 🔥

And our intermediate students were AMAZING on the Dundun drums!

There is something so special about watching a group of people with different levels of experience come together and create one rhythm.

Some people are learning their very first patterns.

Others are developing more complex rhythms and playing the dundun with confidence and power.

But everyone contributes.

And that’s what makes group drumming so special. 🥁

You don’t need to be an experienced musician.

You don’t need to read music.

You don’t need to think you have „good rhythm”.

You just need to listen, have a go and enjoy the process.

Because rhythm teaches us so much more than music.
