Faster shoes won’t make you a faster runner.

There I said it.

Elite at excuses, average at everything else.

Who else feels like triathlon is a lazy way of just avoiding maximum effort at one sport?

21/08/2026

Would you?

I feel that everyone is a Strava warrior, would you still run if Strava disappeared forever?

How many you got?

Slightly more de-conditioned than I’d like to be at this present time, but the rain called me for a workout.

ALTUS 45

10 Push-Ups
15 Squats
20 Sit-Ups

AMRAP in 20 minutes

Followed by a 1km run.

I totalled 16 rounds and a 1km of 4:54

Can you beat this?

The UK finally got some rain. 🌧️

Give it 48 hours and we’ll all be asking when the sun’s coming back.

Too hot? We complain.
Too cold? We complain.
Raining? Obviously complain.
Sunny again? “Bit muggy though.”

Funny thing is, we’re usually exactly the same in the gym.

Get leaner → could be a bit leaner.
Build your shoulders → chest looks small now.
Hit a PB → should’ve gone heavier.
Look the best you’ve looked in years → immediately find the one thing you don’t like in the mirror.

Even the fittest person in the room can find something to nit-pick.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to improve, that’s why most of us train.

But every now and then, actually acknowledge how far you’ve come before moving the goalposts again.

Anyway, when’s summer coming back?

Your fitness goal is exactly that.. yours.

Online coaches and influencers follow trends to confuse the life out of their audience so they can rope you into paying for their bu****it plan that won’t get you results.

Fitness doesn’t need to be difficult..

And secondly, if you’re an online coach or personal trainer, you need to stop chasing money and start looking after the people you train… it is not about a financial goal, it is your responsibility to provide information, care and inform the less informed on health and fitness, not to reinvent the wheel and scam people out of money..

If a personal trainer or coach is suggesting these, run for the hills:

Walking is superior for Fat-Loss (means they’re an idiot)

Meal replacements are better than eating (they’re a sellout, herbalife is a literal pyramid scheme)

Their training method is *proven* (means they aren’t insured and blasted gear to get in shape, be prepared for a £500 bill and no results)

I can get you 6 week blah blah blah (means they’re an idiot)

If you’re trusting someone to help you with your health and fitness goal, please look into them, not their results.. look at their qualifications, look at what they preach, look to see if they’re insured..

One size fits all does not work for fitness.

We are all unique, your goal might be completely different to someone else’s.

Side note:
Just because they’re good at social media, doesn’t mean they’re good at training people.

Much love, Ryan.
