1-2-1 and group yoga practice for longevity and pain free livining. Joining my first yoga class was quite a stressful experience. How wrong I was!

I believe that yoga practice is for everyone, regardless of their body shape, age and flexibility levels. We all deserve to feel well in that precious body we have, move with grace and ease, feel calm and grounded when life gives us challenges. I know that yoga practice can do just that and I also know how scary it can be to join a group yoga class. Having been quite inflexible and clumsy, I was n

Injury should not stop us moving. Part of yoga practice is ability to listen to our body. Sometimes we need to adapt, other we need to pause and completely change our approach to the familiar movement pattern. Practice does not have to be complicated or impressive. It is here to serve us and not the other way around. So please do not chase shapes you see, let the shapes bring you freedom and less pain.

2 weeks after injury and yesterday was my first time out in nature! My face says it all! It was a very slow walk, leg had to be elevated and iced afterwards but it was so worth it. Slow and steady wins the race. If you like me suffered from an injury, take time out please! Listen to your physio and your body. Do not give up! We have only a week and yes I will be back in Yoga Life Studio! I may be modifying my teaching, but I can promise you- you will become stronger physically and mentally. 6 weeks course is designed for stronger future you, whatever life throws at you! Please do not expect acrobatics, yoga is not a show off practice! I am not bothered if you cannot touch your toes, cannot hold plank for 30 seconds or are simply frustrated by what your body is not able to do. What matters is what you can do today and how you can grow on and off the mat.

If you know me in person, you know that I recharge being outdoors. I feel incredibly lucky that my husband loves it too and is happy to carry half of my equipment in his rucksack, builds a shelter for us and cooks on open fire whilst I am forest bathing:)

Yet recent accident forced me to stay at home with my foot elevate. It has not been easy. I had to adapt. I pulled all the possible strength to maintain positive outlook. I did practise yoga and did strength training at home. Modified all that I needed. Yesterday, I managed to hobble to my local supermarket and was incredibly happy to be briefly outdoors.

This was possible because I did not give up, I persevered and looked into small but positive changes. This is yoga practice I often talk about. I will never ever sell you any supplements, promise body transformation in 3 days- but I will keep going on about regular practice, about being consistent, about mental and physical strength.

If there is difficulty, how can we approach it with curiosity. This is my yoga practice- for stronger future you and me. More how to approach it will come soon. Stay tuned and be curious:)

Life can change our plans and re-prioritise values. There will be no long runs for a while and swims will have to wait too. Yoga practice has been adapted accordingly. The foot needs to be iced and elevated for a while. Saying that, I am lucky! Nothing is broken. Have wonderful husband and friends who stepped in to help. Feeling grateful! Slowing down is difficult, I have no option so need to accept what is without resistance. Resistance create frustration and pain, acceptance brings peace, whatever the struggle we facing.

Magic! For me rainbows symbolise hope. There is something uplifting seeing this burst of colours, especially after a hard week. Whatever happens, always look up. There are rays of sunshine behind the clouds. When life gets challenging or perhaps you are getting frustrated on the mat, look beyond the frustration. There is always a way to shift and change. Look for colours/ rainbows/ opportunities- challenges are opportunities hidden behind the clouds of our mind. Take time to shift the clouds and see colours. Have a colourful week peeps!

Although not directly yoga related, this piece of music is so incredibly touching. Let’s never become comfortably numb to suffering of others. Let’s speak out for those who are silenced. Each of us can make a difference, perhaps so small that almost invisible. Small acts of kindness can trigger an avalanche of positive change. Be kind all, do not lose hope

It has been a stressful week and yes we all feel anxious at times. The reasons can be complex. Sometimes we may need medication, a therapy and sometimes woods and a beach can calm the racing thoughts and heart. Yesterday was my healing day. If you like me, feel as if the world was falling apart , take time out. Spend sometime in nature, call a friend and move your body. This may help. Explore various options. It may take some time, but change will happen. After all, nothing ever stays the same.

Yoga practice this morning and then the hardest part of the day- rest, doing nothing. Sauna on the beach and time out. No running, no gym, no house work- nothing. Was it hard? Yes. Being still, schedule time for ourselves can be harder than anything else. Does this resonate with you? If so, take your diary and make a date for yourself. Rest. This can feel like a luxury yet it is not. We all deserve some me time. That’s your most advance yoga practice.
