Real Tennis Court located in Hampton Court Palace. Built circa 1526, the active club is now home to over 500 members, used daily between 7am and 11pm.

The first tennis court at Hampton Court was built for Cardinal Wolsey, between 1526 and 1529. There has been a tennis court on the current site since 1625, which was built for Charles I. Three of the walls on the court today date to the 17th Century, the other being Cardinal Wolsey's orginal. Today the court is home to a thriving club with over 500 members, and is open and in use from 7am to 11pm

Friday has seen two very different but equally riveting matches where the UK's Bryn Sayers (6) only just lost to Australia's Nick Howell (1)- 3:6, 6:3, 5:6, scores do not reflect how close the games were. While British no.1 amateur player, Robert Shenkman (5) fought hard against Australia's Steve Virgona (4), slightly injuring himself to be defeated in 2 set's 3:6, 1:6.

Latest from the Champions Trophy 2026 brought to you by Mitsubishi Electric from the Royal Tennis Court

Nino Merola and Vaughan Hamilton have qualified for the main draw of the Champions Trophy, following the second day of play on Wednesday. Hamilton progressed without having to play a ball after receiving a walkover from Lewis Williams, while Merola did things the hard way, having to battle two difficult matches across the course of the day, saving multiple match points against Will Flynn.

The match between Claire Fahey and Will Flynn was a dead rubber fixture, with both having lost their two earlier matches. The restes were fast and frenetic, with both players trying to finish points quickly either by winning length or winning openings. Though fortune helped her over the line in the first two games, Fahey was clinical thereafter, winning the next three unchallenged. Flynn started to then mount a fightback, looking to hit winners where possible. The next five games were exchanged evenly, but Fahey’s strong start still proved decisive. It brought her maiden Champions Trophy victory, even though she did not progress.
