“Men don’t talk.”
We hear it all the time.
But the reality is more complicated than that. Many men do try to talk. They just are not always heard, understood or met in a way that feels safe.
This Thursday, Dr Robin Hadley looks at what is really going on beneath the silence. The fear of judgement. The risk of being seen as weak. The experience of opening up and it going nowhere.
For many men, staying quiet is not stubbornness. It is protection.
This session is about understanding those barriers properly. Not blaming men for not speaking, but learning how to listen in a way that actually works.
📅 This Thursday
🕖 6:15pm to 7:15pm
📍 Online via Zoom
Tickets are free. Spaces are limited.

Join us. Listen properly. It might change how you hear the men around you.

“The Scottish Government has launched a consultation to understand public awareness, perceptions and experiences of social prescribing through an online survey and conversation. The feedback will help shape the National Social Prescribing Framework, ensuring future services and support are shaped by the people who use them
Social prescribing connects people with local community support, such as activities, groups, welfare advice, volunteering opportunities, physical activity and cultural programmes. It helps people access the non-medical support they need to improve their wellbeing alongside health and social care services.
Whether you have used this type of support before or not, your views will help shape the future direction of social prescribing in Scotland.
Lick here to take part -
Invitation - Connecting People for Wellbeing: Shaping the Future of Social Prescribing - Comhairle Social prescribing recognises that health and wellbeing are influenced by more than medical care. The Scottish Government wants to hear your views of getting help with issues such as loneliness or money worries. Your feedback will inform improvements to social prescribing across Scotland.

A great initiative for young adults 16 and over.
‼️ Still some limited spaces available ‼️
🌿 SOARing Further: Outdoor opportunities for young adults in South Lanarkshire 🌿
This fully funded programme is for young adults aged 16+ who are looking for a different way to build confidence, improve their wellbeing and develop new skills.
SOARing Further is specifically designed for people who may have found traditional learning or support environments challenging. Our outdoor approach offers a supportive alternative, recognising that everyone learns and grows in different ways.
Through regular nature-based sessions, participants can enjoy the benefits of spending time outdoors while taking part in practical activities, meeting new people and developing skills in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
🌳 Improve their wellbeing through regular time in nature
🌳 Build confidence, resilience and independence
🌳 Develop practical outdoor and personal development skills
🌳 Make new friendships and social connections
🌳 Work towards an SCQF-accredited Forest and Outdoor Learning Award (FOLA) if they choose
There are no desks, no pressure and no expectation to learn in one particular way - just the opportunity to discover strengths, try new experiences and progress at a pace that feels right.
If you're a young adult who thinks this programme could be for you, a parent or carer, or if you support someone who might benefit, we'd love to hear from you.
📩 Referrals are now open. Get in touch to find out more or discuss making a referral: [email protected]
Please share this post to help us reach more people who could benefit from this opportunity.
SOARing Further has been made possible thanks to VASLAN and the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.
